Hellam's Vineyard Wine Shop & Bar proudly present: Valentine Wines - Saturday, February 12th, 1 - 6 p.m. Selected will be an assortment of off dry, dessert, pink bubbly and other fun wines to pour for your Valentines Day fun! Washington Sips Wine Bar will host some special events over Valentine's Day weekend, offering a "Red wine and chocolate" special from Friday the 11th through Sunday the 13th. Live Music: Friday Feb 11th: Tom Rigney "The Lone Bluesman" at 7 PM, Saturday Feb 12th: Puget Sound at 6:30 PM and Monday Feb 14th: Michael Gonzalez 7:30- this will be intimate, easy listening, background type music. Smelt Derby!
February 26th, You are invited to participate in the 14th annual Smelt Run during the Smelt Derby Festival in La Conner on Saturday, February 26th. Registration and number pick-up opens at 8:30 am at La Conner Middle School, 305 N. 6th Street.
This 5K/10K run is USATF certified course. Don't like to run? Sign up for the 2M family walk or Kids Dash.
Proceeds from the Smelt Run benefit the Skagit Symphony's Youth Program. This program includes free School Concerts for 1300 local fifth graders and a Family Concert appropriate for youth ages 3 to 103! www.skagitsymphony.com

Open Water Rowing/Paddling Club
February 5th, 10am at La Conner Swinomish Channel.  Sound RowersSound Rowers conducts races coordinated by volunteers for world class and weekend athletes in any open water, human powered craft. Soundrowers sponsor races for kayaks, surf skis, rowing shells, rowboats and canoes throughout Puget Sound. There are more than a dozen different racing classes for all levels of competition, from recreational paddlers to Olympic athletes. Non-members are welcome to participate - all you need is a boat, a paddle, a PFD and whistle (required) and a nominal entry fee. Click here for more info!

Christianson's Nursery Bus reservations and tickets for the show are available through Christianson's Garden Store. This years theme is Once Upon a Time.  The Early bird price for the show is $16. The ticket price at the door will be $20. Flower Buses (Leave from Christianson's at 8:30 am and return at 6:00 pm) February 23-27, 2011 are the show dates, $49 pays for the bus trip and ticket.

A full dance band in the Big Band tradition designed for finger snapping or dancing cheek-to-cheek. Renew musical memories of the 40's and 50's. Led by Chuck Mander, Ret. St. Chief, US Navy, the group will ignite spirited interest in the magical music of that era for those who are young as well as those who are young at heart. We'll roll up the carpet if you want to kick up your heels.

International Guitar Night at the Lincoln Theatre

February 6, 7:30pm The 11th annual tour of International Guitar Night, American acoustic guitarist Brian Gore will be joined by Clive Carroll, England's show-stopping steel string guitarist and favorite IGN alumnus, along with Alexandre Gismonti, exciting young Brazilian guitarist and son of the legendary Egberto Gismonti, and Pino Forastiere one of the leading players of the new contemporary steel string guitar world.

Music About Town

 Live music at Washington Sips: Tuesday February 8th is Mardi Gras, so we will be having a special night of music, along with a masquerade party (we will provide masks but you are welcome to bring your own if you have one for some reason)! The blues group Slimfat Lips will perform at 7 PM, and we will be featuring wines from Masquerade Winery out of Benton City, WA!
Friday the 11th of February kicks off our "Red Wine and Chocolate" weekend. Friday through Sunday the 13th, we will have a wine flight menu with a selection of different flights, and each flight will come with an assortment of gourmet chocolates to pair with! Later on Friday night at 7 PM, Tom Rigney "The Lone Bluesman" will perform.

La Conner Quilt & Textile Museum

A new exhibit January 12-March 27, 2011.  1st Floor-Crazy Quilts, 2nd Floor-Four Embroiderers, 3rd Floor-Four Embroiderers. Quilt Museum Jan 2011 News!The awaited restoration gift of $40,000 from M.J. Murdock will be presented this spring and has challenged the museum to raise an additional $40,000 in matching funds in order to acquire the second half of their contribution.  The group is excited to start work on the exterior renovation this spring.  Located at 703 S. 2nd Street La Conner.
