FEATURED BUSINESS ~ The Port of Skagit
The Port of Skagit/La Conner Marina
The La Conner Marina is is a premier destination for recreational boaters, commercial fishers and marine-related businesses and manufacturers. Located at the north end of charming downtown La Conner, the marina is a clean, service-oriented facility that tourists and La Conner residents alike enjoy visiting. Plus, it's an easy two-hour cruise from the marina into the heart of the beautiful San Juan Islands.
The Port of Skagit, which owns and operates the marina, completed construction of its two boat basins in 1978. Today, the La Conner Marina features 366 covered moorage slips, 131 open moorage slips plus 2,400 lineal feet of dock space for overnight moorage. The port added dry boat storage and commercial boat moorage spaces after that. Various marine-industry businesses also are located at the marina, including boat building, sales, service and repair.
The marina averages about 3,000 overnight boat visits per year. Based on a recent local survey that found boaters in guest moorage spend an average of $225 per night in the local community, the marina boosts La Conner tourist spending by $675,000 annually from this source alone.
Governed by an elected board of three commissioners, The Port of Skagit serves as an economic development engine for Skagit County by concentrating on its mission, Jobs for Our Community. In addition to the marina, the port owns and operates Skagit Regional Airport and the Bayview Business Park. Combined, the port's three facilities are home to more than 80 businesses that employ some 1,100 workers in sustainable household wage jobs.

COMMUNITY
Swans, Snow Geese, Herons, & Bald Eagles Around La Conner! What are you doing this weekend? How about taking a birding field trip, ending the day with Fine Northwest Cuisine, and then cozying up in a waterfront suite or an artistic guest house. La Conner is your watercentric birding getaway. Trumpeter and Tundra Swans migrate south from their summer homes in Alaska to the Skagit Valley. They peak in numbers around January with the majority returning home by the end of March. While out birding you will encounter the Snow Goose which is also white, much smaller and has black wing tips. Snow Geese gather in gigantic flocks of thousands in fields, and fly by thousands to the water around sunset. Their honking is thrilling to hear. Watch out for the Great Blue Herons who like to hang out next to the sloughs. Then look up to the tree tops to spy on Owls, Bald Eagles, and Hawks. You may also see the Rough-legged Hawk, Red-tailed Hawk, Peregrine Falcon and the Northern Harrier. Happy Birding Around La Conner!

The solution of aloe vera and natural USA herbs combine to penetrate through the protein wall that surrounds the fat cells and dissipate toxins from the fat cells into the body's lymphatic system. Once in the lymphatic system, the toxins can be flushed from the body as one drinks water over the following 3 days.
