Is the Data in Your Copier Protected?
Copier Hard Drives Store Sensitive Data As seen recently in mainstream media, the majority of digital copiers built since 2002 contain hard drives. These hard drives store images of every document that has been copied, faxed, scanned, or emailed over the life of the machine. This information may include social security numbers, banking information, medical records, and other highly-personal and sensitive data.
This is something to be aware of, especially if you ever sell or trade in your copy machine. It has been reported that information thieves can easily utilize free software to pull these images off the hard drive.
Many manufacturers offer security or encryption packages that can help you protect your data and even automatically erase document images from the hard drive, often for as little as $500. Alternatively, there are software applications that can be used to scrub the hard drives. |

Office 2010 Cool New Features
Released May 12, 2010 Office 2010 was released on Wednesday, May 12 and is now available to volume licensing customers. One of the new features available in Excel 2010 is Sparklines - miniature charts that fit into a single Excel cell. Sparklines allow you to see individual trends quickly and make better business decisions.
Other new products released include Visio 2010, Project 2010, SharePoint 2010, and Visual Studio 2010. Visual Studio is an integrated development environment built on a growing number of platforms - including Microsoft SharePoint technology and cloud applications that accelerate the coding process.
