Never Too Young
When God called him, the prophet Jeremiah worried that he was too young to be of service to God. Reveille's middle schoolers are not too young to serve. During July 15-21, 25 youth and adults will serve in the area around Winchester, Virginia. They will build wheelchair ramps for the disabled, restore steps for the elderly, paint and do yard work for those unable to do it themselves. Jeremiah Project exists to teach and empower middle school youth to serve Christ in big ways, and they do. Find out more about Jeremiah Project here.
Please pray for our team this week as they serve: John Bullock, Mason Craven, Oliver Creasey, Susan Creasey, Caroline Daniel, Kate Daniel, Karen Davis, Taylor Davis, Jack Drimer, Lucy Fonville, Anna Fowler, Kyreke Jackson, Mary Kern, Cal Kuester, Ryan Kuester, Caroline Lea, Ben Manspile, Randy Manspile, Kate Moncure, Witt Moncure, Kate Overman, Matthew Pinson, Collin Sandler, Dwayne Stinson and Timothy Willis.

Vamos A Usulután
(Let's Go to Usulután)
On Saturday, July 21, 10 youth and 4 adults fly out of Dulles Airport for Usulután, El Salvador. Usulután is the country's 5th largest city, and it has its own theme song, "Vamos A Usulután." In addition, it has a large population of the working poor, who could not own a home of their own without assistance from organizations like Habitat for Humanity.
Habitat builds earthquake-resistant, cinderblock homes. Each home has a kitchen, living room, and two small bedrooms. For families that can afford it, they include indoor restrooms as well. A farmer earns $5 a day; a mason, closer to $9. With Habitat's help, the small, interest-free mortgage covering the cost of materials can allow a family to move out of a tin shanty and into a safe, new home. Volunteers and the families provide the labor.
Our team members will learn to lay cinderblock and set floor tile, but they will work alongside native masons and the home owners themselves. It is a chance to build relationships as well as homes, all while building the Kingdom of God.
Please keep our team members in your prayers as they serve: Jonathan Brabrand, Nathaniel Bruny, Chris Cantone, Gracie Carter, Kirby Collett, Caroline Crabtree, Lee Gray, Martha Hodges, C.J. Johnson, Danielle Lewis, Daniel Maloney, Dwayne Stinson and Grace Thompson.

Reveille Summer Book Review in July
David L. Holmes is returning to the Reveille Summer Book Review Series on Wednesday, July 25, to speak about his latest book, The Faiths of the Post War Presidents from Truman to Obama. This book is a look at our recent presidents and their religious beliefs.
In 2011, Mr. Holmes retired from his position as the Walter G. Mason Professor of Religious Studies at the College of William and Mary, and per his biography, he will be missed for his sharp wit, intellectual vitality, and commitment to the personal growth of his students. We are looking forward to a lively and enlightening review on the 25th. Refreshments will be served at 10:30 a.m., and the book review will begin at 11:00. Child care will be provided.

Help Feed the Homeless
BAG LUNCHES - July 22
On Sunday, July 22, Reveille's elementary Sunday school children will prepare bag lunches to be served on July 23. If you would like to contribute food for the bag lunches, please contact Carol Uzzle, Minister for Teaching and Learning, here or at 359-6041, ext. 117.
HOT MEAL - July 28
Reveille's Friends of the Homeless volunteers will serve the mid-day meal on Thursday, July 26, at Greater Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. During the summer months there are a large number of children accompanying their parents for this meal. We expect to serve around 180 guests. Please sign up to prepare a potato casserole or some pick-up desserts. We also need six volunteers to help serve the meal from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. One sign-up sheet is located on an easel near the staircase in the main hallway of the education building, and another is in the fellowship hall. Copies of the potato casserole recipe are on the sign-up boards. For more information or to volunteer to help, please contact Mary Jane Walls here.

Revisiting Annual Conference 2012
The Virginia Annual Conference met in Roanoke over the weekend of June 22-24. Reveille was represented by Jim Noland, Stephen Coleman (who had to leave early to preach on Sunday), Dick Davis (our lay leader), Ruby Corr, and Margaret Hamilton. Carol Uzzle was ill and unable to attend. Jim, Stephen, and Carol were appointed to Reveille for another year. Katie Anthony, who was commissioned at the service of ordination, was also appointed to serve Reveille in the role vacated by Abby Kocher. We are all grateful for Abby's truly wonderful service to Christ here at Reveille, and we welcome Katie who brings her own unique gifts and graces to share with us.
At the meeting of the Annual Conference in Roanoke the ministry of Bishop Charlene Kammerer was celebrated. Bishop Kammerer is retiring this year after leading the Virginia Conference for the past eight years. Our new bishop will be chosen at the jurisdictional conference in July and will take the reins of the Virginia Conference on the first of August. Our new bishop will be consecrated here at Reveille on September 22.
The Conference also recognized the service of our own Clark Williams, who has served as the conference chancellor for the past 12 years.

Reveille Members Make a Difference
in the Lives of Others
We want to say thank you to all who help to make our Friends of the Homeless hot meal a success each month. We have so many faithful helpers. Some put together potato casseroles and deliver them to church. Others create homemade desserts that are a rare treat for the population we serve. A number of you have given up your time on a Thursday to transport the food and serve the meal at Greater Mt. Moriah Church in Jackson Ward. For those who haven't been to the feeding site, we can only tell you how much your efforts are appreciated by the folks we serve. This ministry, that makes a difference in the lives of many, only works because so many people have a part in the monthly meal. Thank you.
- Joanna Tilley, Mary Jane Walls and Kay Craven
