Annual Conference Offering 2012

One of the highlights of Annual Conference is the Conference Mission Offering. This year the goal is $200,000 to be divided among four projects:

  • A shade and fresh water ministry in Brazil
  • Leadership development for our Church's work in Mozambique
  • Church planting in Cambodia
  • Support for the ministry of Shalom Farms right here on the Richmond District.

Please visit the Virginia Conference website here for additional information. Reveille has always given generous support to the outreach work of the Annual Conference and we will continue to receive this offering through Sunday, June 17. Please be sure to mark your donation "Annual Conference Offering."

Summer Choir Begins June 10

Summer SingSummer has arrived early this year, and so will Summer Choir. We will begin singing on Sunday, June 10. This has become a popular group at Reveille. We have had as many as 30 in the choir loft at once and average between 15-20 singers per Sunday. Please join us; here is what you do:

  • Come to the new choir room at 10:30 a.m. on the Sunday you are able to sing
  • Learn the anthem for the day and review the hymns
  • Sit in the choir loft and sing for worship

No weekly rehearsal, no robes - very easy! The anthems are enjoyable, interesting and easy to learn.

This is an inter-generational choir, so ALL AGES are welcome! As a matter of fact, you may sit with your family in the choir loft, as you all offer your voices to God. For more information, or to be added to the Summer Choir e-mail list, please contact Cathy Armistead here or call 359-6041, ext. 123.

Reveille Coed Softball Begins June 5

Reveille has a coed softball team open to all members and frequent visitors which is about to swing into action. We play on Tuesday evenings starting on June 5 and going through July 31. This is a slow-pitch league, so we play with 10 people on tSoftballhe field at a time, and there must be an even split of five men and five women on the field. New players are always welcome to join us. No skills are necessary, but it is helpful to have your own glove. The most important requirement is the desire to have fun and meet some other Reveille members.

Some weeks we play at Byrd Middle School on Quiocassin Road near Regency Square, and some weeks we play at Moody Middle School on Woodman Road near Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Some weeks we play at 6:30 p.m. and other weeks we play at 8:15, but we are always finished by 10:00 p.m. The schedule will appear in a later issue of The Reveille Window so that spectators can come watch the action.

If you are interested in playing, please contact Martha Hodges by e-mail here or call the church office at 359-6041, ext. 114.

The team consists of the following individuals: Lauren Austin, Diane Boyce, Emma Bruny, Stephanie Chubb, Cary Gentry, Lofton Gentry, Claire Kaugars, Shannon Klutz, David LeRoux, Caroline LeRoux, Suzanne Nyfeler, Janet Pinson, Mary Michael Schweiker, Richard Schweiker, Lynne Blain, Tommy Blain, Mac Blain, and Stu Blain.

The team will be commissioned at the 11:00 service on July 8. Please plan to keep this group in your prayers as they travel far to serve the needs of others.
