This is Music Ministry Sunday!
At the 11:00 a.m. worship service this Sunday, September 25, we will celebrate our music ministry and dedicate music leaders for the new choir year. Our music ministry includes choirs for all ages, and we are truly blessed to have such talented and dedicated directors, assistants and accompanists for each choir. We are equally blessed by an extremely supportive congregation, which values the importance of music as a gift from God, good music instruction, and growing faith through music. Initial numbers from fall kickoff are indicative of this support: 70 in Youth Choir and more than 80 in children's choirs. With over 50 adults involved in weekly choir rehearsals, we praise God for this bounty. Be sure to say thank you to our musicians and their leaders:

| Piano Benefit Concerts
You will not want to miss the piano benefit concerts on Saturday, September 24 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, September 25 at 2:00 p.m. in our sanctuary. Reveille pianists and friends are performing pieces by Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Bach, Kodaly and others in an effort to raise funds to purchase a new piano for our new chapel. We are blessed to have a beautiful Steinway concert grand piano in our sanctuary, and we are hoping to get a six-foot baby grand of equal quality to serve as our worship instrument in the new chapel.
Concert performers include Elizabeth Bell, Kevin Bruny, John Bullock, Susan Bullock, Matthew Nagi, Elizabeth Spiers and Cathy Armistead. Kathy Toole, Director of Music at Bon Air United Methodist Church, will join Kevin and Cathy in a work for piano, harpsichord and organ, written by Paul Halley, three-time Grammy Award winner for The Paul Winter Consort. There will be something for everyone. Plan to attend and bring friends and family. A reception will follow the Saturday evening performance.
You may donate here or make your check payable to Reveille UMC noting New Chapel Piano in the memo space. Our financial target is $18,000 - $20,000.

| Responding to Grace
2012 Stewardship Campaign
During the month of October the stewardship pledge campaign to fund our church's 2012 operating budget will take place. Stewardship requires that we give our prayers, presence, service, witness, and our financial gifts. The act of giving - the willing return of a small part of what we have received - can reveal a glimpse of God's grace.
In that spirit, our 2012 stewardship campaign theme is Responding To Grace. This is an exciting and energetic time in the life of our church. Our new building space is growing every day and the vision we discerned for Reveille - Making a transforma-tional difference in God's world - is becoming a reality in many different ways, showing up in moments of grace, both small and large, that your gifts help to support.
Your pledge is an important part of continuing that momentum in 2012.The main source of funding for the operating budget comes from pledged giving, and those pledges allow our church staff and committees to plan the 2012 budget more accurately and responsibly.
During the month of October you'll be learning more about Reveille's finances and how your financial gifts are making a difference through Reveille's ministries. Look for that in The Reveille Window, worship bulletins, ministry moment speakers during the October 16 and 23 worship services, and in group presentations. We will be sending you information in the mail about filling out your pledge cards to be brought to the altar during Consecration Sunday on October 30.
Our hope is that this information will help as you prayerfully consider your pledge over the coming weeks, and the transformational difference it can make for our congregation, our youth, our community and our world.

With gratitude for a wonderful Reveille Day
We offer a hearty thank you to all of our great volunteers who made Reveille Day a wonderful day for worship and fellowship. We especially thank Donna Bowen, Reveille Day coordinator; Gil Wells and family for food preparation; Ian Coddington and our Boy Scouts for serving food and cleaning up; Jim Fowler, owner of Rivah Flowers, for donation of 60 potted chrysanthemums; and all those who sold tickets, collected money, and did many other behind-the-scenes tasks to make Reveille Day a success.

Cradle crosses presented as gifts to newborns
The Worship Committee will now present a wooden cradle cross to the new members of "our flock." Replacing the altar rosebud previously honoring a newborn, the wooden cross is inscribed with Matthew 19:14, Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them.
The Dutch believed strongly in this scripture passage and for centuries placed cradle crosses over the beds of their infant children so that this symbol of the Christian faith might early become a part of the child's consciousness (paraphrased from Wilderness Arts Co.).
After being displayed on the altar, the cradle cross will be given to the newborn in a keepsake gift box with a presentation certificate.

Where is God on Monday? We spend all day Sunday in Sunday school, worship, and youth group, singing in choirs and attending Bible studies, but where is God on Monday? This week at youth group, in various forums, we will address that question.
We are experimenting with a new set-up for youth group with three different experiences available. Youth choose which group they want to join: Fellowship, topical discussion, or small group. Our aim is to make the youth group feel a bit more personal for those looking for more depth, and less intimidating for those who are new.
Our schedule for the evening is
4:30 p.m. Middle school youth group/high school choir
5:30 p.m. Dinner ($3)
6:00 p.m. High school youth group/middle school choir
Please remember Tatiana and Jose, the two children our youth group sponsors through World Vision. Two dollars a month provides education, medical care, and support for their entire communities to help them improve their lives.
Middle school youth: If you want a mission experience next summer, a chance to hammer and paint, to build and to repair, Jeremiah Project is for you. Jeremiah Project is a home repair organization dedicated to empowering middle school youth to do hands-on missions. It is a fun balance of service, worship and recreation. Slots go fast, though, so we have to register early. To secure a spot on the team, a deposit of $100 is due to Dwayne by September 30, along with the registration form you should have received by mail. After that date there is no guarantee that you will be able to participate.
The possible dates for Jeremiah Project are
June 24-30, 2012
July 1-7, 2012
July 8-14, 2012
July 15-21, 2012
July 22-28, 2012
July 29-August 4, 2012
We will sign up for the week(s) that suit the most team members, and should have confirmation of our dates by late October.

PARENTS: We ask the following of you:
- Sunday school begins at 9:30 a.m. Please have your child at Sunday school on time. Just as you get your child to school on time each day, we hope you will make it a priority to have your child in Sunday school on time.
- Please go to the class with your child and pick your child up from their classroom. For safety reasons, we ask that children not be in the building unescorted. Reveille's education building has many exits and we want all of our children to be safe.
- During the week read the Scripture listed above with your child. This is a wonderful unit filled with the stories of our faith. As you read and talk about the Bible stories, you are helping your child grow in the faith.
If you have questions or would like to learn more about Sunday school at Reveille, please contact Minister for Teaching and Learning Carol Uzzle here or by phone at 359-6041, ext. 117.
