What does the Lord require of us?
This Sunday, May 15, the youth will explore this question at the 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. services. Building on Micah 6:8, the service will focus on what it means to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God. These two services will look a bit different, so be prepared, because justice, mercy, and humility have a way of dramatically changing the way we behave.
Collegiate senior Julia Greer will deliver the sermon, but the message will come through song and story, liturgy and art as well. Come wondering and leave knowing what it is that God expects of you.

Mission Benefit Concert to help UM Family Services
Each year, talented musicians and vocalists present the Mission Benefit Concert as a fundraiser for a worthy cause. The benefactor of this year's concert is United Methodist Family S ervices (UMFS), which provides a network of services to at-risk children and families. You are invited to experience this concert on Sunday, May 22 at 7:00 p.m. in our sanctuary.
The Reveille Ringers and Reveille Ensemble will begin the program. Then forty-five voices will sing Maurice Durufle's Requiem accompanied by chamber orchestra, harp and organ, conducted by Dr. Charles Staples, Director of Music at Trinity United Methodist Church. Performances of this exquisite but difficult masterwork are rare; do not miss this opportunity.
Following the concert, you are invited to attend a reception in the fellowship hall catered by our own Tommy Threewitts.
Your donation will be much appreciated by United Methodist Family Services. You may donate online here or may pick up a donation form in the church office or narthex of the church.

Will you help feed the homeless?
BAG LUNCHES - MAY 22 Mark your calendar to help prepare bag lunches and make sandwiches on Sunday, May 22, at 10:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall. The 160 bag lunches will be distributed at lunchtime on Monday at the Richmond Friends of the Homeless feeding site at Greater Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. The families of our third through fifth graders sponsor this ministry providing the food each month. If you would like to help provide food, please e-mail Jennifer Huneycutt.
HOT MEAL - MAY 26 Please sign up this week to prepare a potato casserole or help serve our monthly hot meal for Friends of the Homeless. Recipes are provided, and the cooked casseroles should be delivered to Reveille by 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 26. We also need several volunteers to make homemade cookies or dessert bars. We usually feed around 160 guests. Servers are needed from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Greater Mt. Moriah Baptist Church. For more information or to volunteer to help, please e-mail Mary Jane Walls or call her at 355-4479.

A Fifth Sunday Opportunity
The Widow's Offering (Mark 12:41-44)... A poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which are worth a penny.
How many of us often have a few extra bills or coins in our wallets or purses? The fifth Sunday of the month is an extra Sunday to do something extraordinary with your extra bills and coins. On each fifth Sunday of the month, beginning with May 29, you are invited to add $1, $5, or $10 to your normal giving in the offering plate. Let's see how powerful these gifts can be.

Annual Conference Offering will help many
The Virginia Annual Conference hopes to raise $200,000 from churches throughout the Conference to be presented at its annual meeting June 15-19 in Roanoke. This offering will be shared by four recipients, receiving $50,000 each.
The Annual Conference offering reflects mission needs in some of the poorest annual conferences in the Methodist Church in Brazil. We continue to support what our sister bishop, Bishop Nhanala, and her leaders have decided are priorities for our partnership with Mozambique. Here in Virginia, we will be lifting up two district-centered ministries, the Agape Christian Children's Community Center, Inc., on the Eastern Shore district, and Grace Ministries Shalom Zone in the Roanoke District. The recipients are as follows:
Leadership Development/Living Water in Mozambique supports lay and clergy in leadership development and also supports the Living Well Society in its ministry of drilling new wells.
The Shade & Fresh Water Project was developed by the Brazil United Methodist Church to keep children off the streets and away from gangs and drugs by providing afterschool center, resources, and materials.
Agape Christian Children's Community Center Inc. on the Eastern Shore of Virginia supports the small rural ethnic minority community of Horntown to provide a healthy nurturing environment for at-risk children. Shalom Zone: Grace Ministries in the Roanoke District ministers to the disenfran-chised of downtown Roanoke with an emphasis on the recovering community, the immigrant community and marginalized people. Please give generously and make your contribution by designating your check or marking your envelope Annual Conference Offering.

Honduras Medical/Dental Team 7 is getting ready
By Al Rogers
As we gather papers and passports, update our vaccines, get physical exams and register with the embassy, among other checklist items, July's Honduras medical team must prepare physically and spiritually for the experience to come. Witnessing the beauty of the country, the innocence of the children, and the humble grace of the Hondurans through the eyes of new missioners is just as powerful and transformative for those who have been there many times as it is for those making their first trip.
This year, Reveille's multigenerational team of 14 has eight members who are new to international mission work, which shows the growth and ongoing dedication to this worthy project. The team includes two physicians, a dentist, a nurse practitioner, three registered nurses and four Spanish speakers to run the eye clinic, de-worming, and vitamin stations. Adding a new dimension to this mission, Dr. Claire Kaugars will provide dental care to the communities we visit alongside our usual medical stations. Adding to the dental mission, we are collecting toothbrushes at Reveille for distribution on our trip. We hope to collect 1500 in the designated boxes in the sanctuary and fellowship hall.
We are indeed grateful for the opportunity to serve over 1200 of God's children in this way and proud of Reveilles' commitment to this transformative project.
