Greetings!
It's finally SPRING!!! We're a bit flooded from all the rain in RI at the moment. Hopefully the flooding will subside quickly, and people can get back to their normal lives soon. Our hearts go out to everyone whose life has been disrupted by the floodwaters..
Things are very busy for the Peace Flag Project, and we'll have a longer newsletter soon. In the meantime we wanted to tell you about a very special peace service in one of the beautiful old
churches of RI.

If you are local, please try to come to participate in this beautiful and moving event.

We are all peacemakers.
Peace is in our hands.

In peace and gratitude,

Ginny Fox
Interfaith Community Peace Service
The Kingston Congregational Church welcomes everyone to be part of this lovely community service to pray for peace and remember victims of violence and war throughout the world. Held in a beautiful historickingston chapel, this moving service includes prayers for peace by clergy from many of the world's religions. Part of the ritual is also having each member of the clergy pour water into a bowl to represent our coming together as one.

Peace Flags decorate the chapel, expressing the wishes of many Rhode Islanders for a kinder, more generous and peaceful world. Ginny Fox will be one of the speakers, and everyone will be invited to make a Peace Flag.

Families are welcomed. There will be a children's choir and a children's activity time. Refreshments are also served as people gather after the service.

The Peace and Justice Task Force of the Kingston Congregational Church created the Interfaith Community Peace Service to bring people of all faiths together to pray for peace in Iraq and Afghanistan. Over time our prayers of peace and memorial candle-lighting have broadened to include all areas of the world and all issues relating to peace.
