With all this snow and ice, it's important to remove any snow off of flat roofs and to watch storm windows for air leaks. Read more tips below.

Icicles, gutters and storm windows

Here's some tips from the "Handyman on Call" at the Boston Globe:

- If you live in a townhouse or other building with a flat roof, be sure that any snow is removed. Sloped roofs should be fine, unless falling snow is a worry.

- Break icicles off gutters before damage can be caused.

- If ice is forming on your storm windows, there might be humid air reaching them from inside the house.
