Greetings!
Tired of all the snow? Find below some great tips we've found to help you deal with this icy winter.

Ice Melt: Alternatives to rock salt
Rock salt is an effective way to melt stubborn icy spots in your driveway, but it can cause problems. The salt can kill plants in gardens along the driveway or walkway, and if you have any pets, the salt can burn their paws.
As an alternative try plain sand, saw dust, straw or peanut hulls.
Heated driveways are also becoming more and more popular as they eliminate the need to shovel snow at all. If you have an existing house, the driveway can be torn up and reinstalled with radiant heating underneath, which uses electricity to heat the concrete or asphalt. The home in which the electricity will be running through needs to be 240 volts in order for the radiant heating to work properly.
If you are curious or have any questions about installing a heated driveway in your home, give us a call. We'd be happy to help.
