The Senate is likely to pass a bill soon that would extend the first-time homebuyers' tax credit until April. It would also extend to some current homeowners as well as increase the income eligibility. Find out more below.

Senate likely to extend homebuyers' tax credit
While the bill has not yet passed, Senate leaders have reached "a tentative deal to extend the first-time homebuyers' tax credit that was originally passed earlier this year as part of the stimulus bill," reports CNN.
If passed, the bill would extend the $8,000 credit for first-time buyers until the end of April. A $6,500 credit for current homeowners that have lived in their primary residence for five years would extend until April as well.
The eligible income levels for the credit will also increase to $125,000 for singles and $250,000 for couples. The Wall Street Journal reports the credit will phase out for those earning more income than those limits. Read more...
