Energy-efficient insulation
Choosing the type of insulation to use in a new home or renovation is important.
Properly insulating your home can cut up to 50% off your utility bill, depending on the type of insulation used and how much per square foot is installed in the home. Materials such as Icynene (a spray foam) and Ultra Touch (an insulation material comprised of recycled denim material and treated with boron, a nontoxic flame retardant) are healthier than standard fiberglass insulation. They seal better and don't break down over time, creating an effective barrier from outdoor allergens. Neither produce harmful off gases once cured, improving indoor air quality.
