Winter energy-efficiency tips
Now that fall has officially arrived, it's time to think about winterizing your home to lower your energy costs. According to the EPA, heating accounts for 34% of all annual utility usage. The EPA's website lists tips to "weather the winter" like those below. Learn more here. - Use non-toxic de-icing substances.
- Install an ENERGY STAR-qualified programmable thermostat, and remember to turn down the thermostat while on vacation.
