Cape Cod Times reports area home prices finally rise in July
The Times reported recently that Cape area prices rose in July, up 3.6% compared to July 2008.
"The median sales price on the Cape last month was $320,000, up from the July 2008 price of $308,750.
The
last time the Cape saw an increase in median sales value was December
2007. In that month, the midpoint price was $375,000, an increase of
2.7 percent over the December 2006 value of $365,000."

Boston area home prices, sales on rise as well
The Boston Globe reported yesterday an increase in home sales in the Boston area, suggesting a welcome turn in the markets. For three months in a row, Boston area home prices have increased. "June home prices were a strong 2.6 percent above the previous month,
and the number of single-family homes that sold statewide in July was a
whopping 12 percent higher than a year ago. While these data come from
different sources, and measure different components of the real estate
market, they point to a market that is heading upward." Read more here. |
