September 2011            bridges 2 understanding

Please note that my Discipline and the Strong-Willed Child class dates have changed. The class will start on Oct. 4th. 4 spaces left!

Greetings!

Have  you ever had a conflict where you just knew the other person should change? ..... and then you tried to change them? It just doesn't work and no one likes it!!

The same principle applies to conflict between parents and their children. Parents have the highest chance of children changing when parents change themselves first.   Parents often  hold on for dear life the belief that they must, and have every right, to have power over and control their children. Control of others is an illusion.

When parents self-reflect and then change, they have the greatest possibility  of transforming Family Conflict into Family Cooperation. Our power comes from changing ourselves then seeing the change reflected in those around us.

Look at my Think-Feel-Do Cycle and you'll see how the child's thinking and actions are farther away than our own thinking and acting.

To learn more about the Think-Feel-Do Cycle, attend my Discipline and the Strong-Willed Child class NOW STARTING ON OCTOBER 4TH.

Mom shares benefit of attending Cynthia's Free Introductory Class

Words of praise from mom who attended Introductory class in June 2011

"First of all I would like to thank you for your time and for sharing so valuable information. Even though we only met for a couple of hours, I feel that the information I received from your class has helped me a lot with my children. Not only with my 5 year old son who I had the concerns with but also with my daughters. I think that after attending your class, I became a better parent. I try to follow all your suggestions and I'm already seeing positive results.  Also having something in writing has helped me because I try to read all the information you gave me at least once a week just to remind me.  I now understand that everything doesn't need to be perfect, that every child is different even if they come from the same mom and dad and that it makes a big difference how we ask things and how we approach them.  My son has made a very positive improvement in his behavior which I'm very happy about.  Thank You!"

Inspirational  Words

Back of card logo
"All children are gems full of precious potential. There is hope in every child since life itself is full of hope. Should the hopes of children be stilled or broken, that would be our responsibilities as adults. It pains my heart to see what goes on in today's society. I do not want to see the eyes of children darkened with fear and clouded with tears of sorrow. Society must be absolutely transformed. Children are mirrors that reflect adult society. When adults are ailing and their vision cloudy, children will also suffer. Let us wipe away the tears of sorrow from the face of each child. We must protect children and give them courage, strength and vitality. It is parents who nurture children, the hope of humanity. How noble parents are! What a great mission and responsibility they fulfill!"
