CONVENTION RESCHEDULED

We're taking the threat of Hurricane Irene very seriously. We've decided to cancel this year's Annual Convention in August, and reschedule when Mother Nature calms down a bit. We'd love to see you from October 23-25th in beautiful (when there isn't a hurricane) Saratoga Springs!

Please contact your hotel and cancel your rooms for this weekend. The Gideon Putnum and Hilton Garden Inn will give full refunds , and reservations at your respective hotels will be held for the October dates. YOU must call the hotel to cancel. We can't do it for you because it is in your name.

Again, we are cancelling this weekend.

OCC Allows Banks to Close

WASHINGTON - The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency today issued a proclamation allowing national bank and federal savings association offices affected by the Hurricane Irene to close at their discretion.

In issuing the proclamation, Senior Deputy Comptroller for Midsize and Community Bank Supervision Jennifer Kelly said she expects that only those bank offices directly affected by the hurricane will close.  The proclamation is being issued in anticipation of emergency conditions.  Affected offices should make every effort to reopen as quickly as possible to address the banking needs of their customers, she added.

Prepare Your Clients for Disaster

In an event like a hurricane or natural disaster, you should have a plan, and have your financial documents in order. In a national news release that community bankers can customize for their communities, ICBA offered tips such as keeping important documents in a safe-deposit box, making and safeguarding copies of official documents and taking an inventory of household valuables.
