Following our last newsmail in April, we have had a significant uptake on how to gain access to the public sector...
 
As existing routes to the private sector markets remain tough, we are seeing more businesses look at ways to extend their 'route range' and revenues by looking at the public sector as a way to ensure recurring revenues.

This newsmail focuses on the above five areas and how we can assist existing bid teams on enhancing their approach or those without such a function to manage the process from start to finish.  Our aim is to provide a suitable set of bespoke methodologies that will ensure we leave our clients a structure and skill set that will see winning work become a habit long after we leave...

7House Tender Management

As highlighted above, we are hugely
experienced in providing strategic review, guidance and hands-on project management to businesses that require support to winning work in the public sector.  We have now devised the 7 methods of 7House that identifies and drives through the following: 

* Reviewing the business strategically and finding whether there is a natural fit with opportunities within the public sector.

* Strategic review - is it worth the bid costs? Identifying the right messages for our client to 'converse' effectively with pubic sector as well as  the smartest route to access to the public sector given their market space and size.
 
* Identifying the skill sets and necessary support required to ensure the correct approach is taken.
 
* Putting in place the 'Execution and Infrastructure' to ensure a proactive legacy is left behind in terms of people/process/ measurement and expectation.
 
Each client requires a different approach but typically the process could fall into one of the following categories:

* Those who are already accredited onto a framework and will require assistance in either the renewal process, which could take the form of bidding direct; linking wth a partner or integrating with a Consortium.

* Post win, those who require structure in their business development efforts to maximise the tender and associated bid costs.

* Those who are looking to become accredited onto a relevant framework for the first time and require assistance on identifying the framework and the subsequent bid management that follows.

Tender Management Training 
 
7House have devised a specific tender management training course that assists both bid and operational teams in further understanding and delivering on winning bids.
 
Whilst each one day course is bespoke, we focus on three core areas:
 
*Reviewing the tender vs the strategy
 
*Preparation for bid and the process
 
*Post win focus and resourcing structure
 
We currently have this session built into 4 of our clients training programmes.  In addition we are running informal sessions for private equity houses to discuss the relevance of introducing their portfolio clients to the public sector as a new route to market.
 
Don't forget also, that we are able to attract Government funding, meaning our tender training course could cost as little as £500.

Clive Thomas - 'Operational Doctor'

Clive is an experienced Finance Director with over 20 years experience working with SME's and plc's, bringing a wealth of expertise and a proven, successful track-record on a  hands-on and strategic level.
Clive specialises in the financial strategy and structure behind setting up a new business, including refinancing and investment vehicles.  He has also been involved in a number of IPO's and public fund-raising exercises, as well as numerous acquisitions and integration projects across many sectors.
In addition to a number of interim management roles, Clive held positions as Operations & Finance Director, Group Integration Manager and Group Financial Controller with public sector professional support services organisation Tribal Group plc.
 
Clive's experience lends itself to businesses who need specific finance experience or a more broader skill set that may encompass one or more of the operational disciplines combined together...
