Jim Bonilla at NCORE 2011

Associate Professor of Conflict StudiesJim Bonilla Professor James Bonilla, School of Education graduate student Leah Lindeman and School of Education Assistant Professor Naomi Taylor will be presenting their research at the 24th Annual National Conference on Race & Ethnicity in American Higher Education (NCORE 2011) on Saturday June 4th in San Francisco. The title of their presentation will be Five Lenses for Educating and Assessing Cultural Competency and is based on research done on a pilot graduate course called "Cultural Competency and Leadership" offered here in the School of Business in Spring 2010.

On March 20-23 Dr. Nikolay Megits, Adjunct Professor represented Hamline

Nikolay Megits

School of Business at the 14th International Global Business Development Institute Conference in Las Vegas, NV, where he presented a research paper on the "Problems and Prospects of Growth of the Renewable Energy Market in Developing Countries." The title of this lecture was derived from a paper that has been accepted for publication in the peer reviewed Journal of Global Business Development. The conference theme was "Competitive Success in the Digital Age through Business and Economics."


The focus of this research is on foreign direct investment as the main driving force toward the development of green energy. In addition, Dr. Megits served as the Session Chair for Business Systems: Issues and Applications.  Further information about the conference can be found at www.gbdi-conference.org.

Somerville Paper Accepted at a Conference
 

Karen SomervilKaren1le, PhD, Assistant Professor in Hamline's School of Business, and her co-author, Dawn-Marie Turner, PhD, President of Turner Change Management, Inc., have had a paper accepted at The Academy of Management's 5th International Conference on Management Consulting, June 9 - 11, 2011 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. This empirical study is entitled: Managers' Perceptions of Organizational Change Skills -- Within their Organization and Those Sought from Management Consultants.

Waldron Lectures at University of Georgia

 

Dr. Craig Waldron,Craig Waldron adjunct faculty for the School of Business and Oakdale City Administrator, recently lectured at the College of Environment and Design at the University of Georgia. Dr. Waldron presented "My Life in Planning So Far - Reflections from the Suburban Edge" to the students and faculty. He also presented "Working with the New Politician" to the planning studio class. Additionally, School Dean Dan Nadenicek graciously hosted a reception for Dr. Waldron and the faculty at his home.
