Holt Fellowship Accepting Applications for 2010-2011  

Ann Holt returned to Hamline on Friday and met with recipients of the Holt Endowed Fellowship.  Her return to campus coincides with the announcement of the School of Business accepting applications for 2010-2011 Holt Fellowships. The Holt Fellowship is awarded to HSB students and faculty whose academic pursuits demonstrate commitment to deepening their understanding of global citizenry, increasing their multicultural competencies, and immersing themselves in the ideas, customs, and languages of other cultures.  Previous recipients and their travel destinations pictured below are Bob Venters (China, 2009), Trong Ha (China, 2009) Kristi Rendahl (Armenia, 2010), Emily Peterson (China, 2009), and Megan Lopez (China, 2009).  Other recipients have used the fellowship for other study abroad  opportunities.  Where will you go?  Go to the web to find general information about the fellowshipits mission, vision, and valuesand the criteria and application form.  
 
Reminder -  the China and India MBA programs for Fall 2010 are still accepting applications. 
     
 
 
Undergraduate BBA for Working Adults on FOX9 
 
The School of Business has formed an Undergraduate BBA for working adults.  The program will help  students who have completed some college finish what they started.  FOX9 was recently on the Hamline campus reporting on the drop in unemployment and how earning the Undergraduate BBA is a way to ensure employment security in the future.  Click on the photo below to watch the video.

1st Annual Northeast Conference on Public Administration
 
The 1st annual Northeast Conference on Public Administration (NECoPA), hosted by the School of Public Affairs and Administration will be at Rutgers University-Newark on October 22 and 23rd, 2010. The conference theme is "Public Service Under Pressure." The conference is accepting paper proposals and registrations.  Check the conference website for more information.
5th Annual Conference on Social Science Research
 
Paper proposals are due on July 1 for the 5th Annual Conference on Social Science Research.  This interdisciplinary conference will draw together faculty members, researchers, and professionals from the social sciences, and provide them with the opportunity to interact with colleagues from the same field and from related fields. Cross-disciplinary submissions are particularly encouraged as is participation by international scholars.  For more information about the conference or paper proposals, visit
