HSB Students and Faculty Support Midway Businesses

Hamline MBA and undergraduate students recently celebrated Hamline's involvment in supporting many small businesses along University Avenue.  HSB Professor Rob Routhieaux and Career Management Specialist Rich Manke along with CLA Professor Earl Schwartz have worked closely with the University Avenue Business Association to apply a mix of community development and social justice principles and entrepreneurial business practices when working with University Avenue businesses.
Pictured below are Cuong Chu (MBA), Duke Mwebe (MBA), Rob Routhieaux, Naomi Wegschied '10, Earl Schwartz and the UABA Executive Director (and Hamline University alum) Linda Winsor.  The celebration was at Saigon Restaurant.

'Leading Strategic Projects' Seminar Gets Rave Reviews; New Seminar Offered June 15
The workshop, "Risk Management: The Key to Health Care Plan Cost Reduction" will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2010. It is the third in a series of professional development opportunities offered through the School of Business. For more information visit the seminar's website or contact Ellen Zebrun at 651-523-2934. You do not need to have attended past workshops to participate in this one.

The previous seminar, "Leading Strategic Projects," was held at the Minneapolis location with outstanding results. The participants rated the workshop highly on information shared and materials received. Most importantly, every attendee responded 'yes' when asked if she or he would recommend the seminar to a colleague. The 30 attendees were a good mix of staff, students, and the general public, with companies such as Wells Fargo, Ameriprise, Bank of America, Best Buy, MLT Vacations, Faribault Foods, Cargill and the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis represented, as well as local county governments and visitor associations.
