MBA Student-Alumni Event Recap
Nearly 75 MBA students, alumni, and faculty attended the April 15 networking event in the atrium of the Minneapolis Center.

Professor Lehmann Earns Award of Merit
HSB Professor Dan Lehmann was presented an Award of Merit by the University of Illinois College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences (ACES) Alumni Association during the college's annual award banquet held April 19. The Award of Merit is given annually to College of ACES graduates who have made significant contributions to their chosen profession and to the human sciences and food and natural resources industries. After nearly 30 years as a manager and senior executive in several multinational companies, Professor Lehmann joined the School of Business. He has taught and advised undergraduate students, helped develop the MBA finance concentration, and taught in MBA Module 2. |
HSB Welcomes Visiting Scholar
HSB welcomes visiting scholar Francesca Corrado from our partner institution the University of Modena-Reggio Emilia. Francesca arrived on April 23 and will be with us until the end of August. She is in the doctoral program in the history of economic thought and while here will be doing research and working under Dean Schuster's direction on her dissertation on Wealth and Welfare Economics. |

Anita Larson Presents
On Thursday April 22, Public Administration doctoral student and adjunct instructor Anita Larson presented a paper entitled Human Capital and Economic Development: Implications of Spatial Analysis of Child Outcomes and Business Data for Labor Force Quality, Business Location, and Targeted Public Policies at the 68th annual conference of the Midwest Political Science Association in Chicago, Illinois. The paper was part of a panel on New(er) Methodologies in the Study of Public Policy, which included a variety of innovative approaches policy analysis. The Human Capital paper used Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology, or mapping, to overlay multiple community factors related to child well-being and business location to explore the ways in which they overlapped and the implications for public policies intended to address current and future labor force needs to support business. |
