HSB Meets Partner Schools in Germany

In an effort to provide the best international experience possible to students, Hamline School of Business professors Fahmia Aziz and Jim Hagen joined Kari Richtsmeier, Director of Off Campus Programs, to meet with colleagues at Trier University in Trier, Germany and the Cologne Business School in Cologne, Germany.   They also met with the Hamline students who are currently studying in Germany and visited sites for potential excursions and learning opportunities.

Undergraduate students are invited to an information meeting with pizza provided on Friday, April 9 in GLC 104E from noon to 1 p.m.  Students will hear more about study abroad opportunities to Cologne in Fall 2010 and Spring 2011.  Visit hamline.edu/studyabroad for more information about the programs.

Congratulations to a Social Innovator

The March 15 Hamline Dialogue featured four successful social innovators who shared their stories before opening the floor for discussion.  Part of the discussion centered on a contest in which participants shared their ideas for future social innovation.  Master in Nonprofit Management student Nell Hurley won the contest and the $50 Salut gift card by sharing her idea for a recovery community organization that is proactive in reaching out to alcoholics or people seeking recovery.  Rather than waiting for a problem, this organization would work in a reverse role from a crisis line by supporting those in need before a crisis occurred.
