2010 Brooks and Novak Scholarships - Accepting Applications

Applications are being accepted for the 2010 Gladys Sinclair Brooks Endowed Scholarship and the 2010 Steve and Julie Novak Endowed Scholarship.  Each scholarship is awarded annually to a student in the Master in Public Administration or Doctorate in Public Administration programs.  The application deadline is April 12, 2010.  Information about the scholarships can be found on the HSB Scholarship page
Financial Aid Changes Starting Summer 2010

Beginning summer 2010, Hamline will participate in the federal Direct Student Loan program.  This means students who borrow federal loans will do so directly from the U.S. Department of Education rather than from a lender or bank.  The Direct Loan program offers simplicity, stability, and cost-effectiveness, including a lower interest rate for the Graduate PLUS Loan.  New application instructions are now posted at www.hamline.edu/fa.

Also starting this year, summer financial aid will be included at the end of the 2009-2010 financial aid year instead of at the beginning of the following year.  During this year of transition, summer will be both at the end and the beginning of the financial aid year.  This means that the Stafford Loan annual limit may have to cover four semesters (summer 2009-summer 2010) as opposed to three semesters.  For graduate students who have already borrowed the $20,500 annual Stafford limit, the Graduate PLUS Loan will be available.

For more information about summer financial aid, go to www.hamline.edu/fa or contact the Financial Aid Office at 651-523-3000 or sasmail@hamline.edu.
