HSB International Experiences for Spring 2010!
We are pleased to announce a 2010 International Experience to Vietnam! In March 2010, Hamline will take MBA students to study business in Vietnam. Vietnam is developing into another Asian economic powerhouse. Study and travel with Professor Dave Berg. Information on dates, cost, and the application process will be announced next week!
We've told you about the international experience to Italy for April 2010. The trip to Modena includes a visit to the Lamborghini factory and other international businesses, plus a day trip to Florence, Italy. Check the syllabus for more information on the course. Applications can be found here.

Holt Endowed Fellowship
In May 2009, the School of Business announced the Holt Endowed Fellowship. The Holt Fellowship was established by Ann E. Holt in honor of her parents, Darrel and Elizabeth Holt, both graduates of Hamline University. The Holts' enthusiastic love of life-long learning and deep appreciation for ethical development and leadership are evident in the mission, vision, and values of the Holt Fellowship.
Applications are being accepted now for 2010 graduate and undergraduate spring and summer international travel and study opportunties. Please visit the Holt Endowed Fellowship web site for all the details. The due date for spring and summer applications has been updated to December 31, 2009. |
The Hamline MBA: Taking You to New Heights
HSB instructor Karen Somerville is pictured right with four Hamline MBA students on their October MBA international experience in China. The group is shown in Shanghai's Pearl Tower (photo below). If you look closely you can see that they are sitting, somewhat nervously, on the glass floor of the Pearl Tower overlook. The ground is hundreds of feet below them. Professor Somerville is in the middle with Brian Farmer on the left and following clockwise is Emily Peterson, James Gaffney, and Trong Ha.

MBA Roundtable Event
An MBA Roundtable event will be held Tuesday, December 15 at 7pm at the Minneapolis Center. Speakers include the President of a leadership company, a CEO of a major advertising company, and a VP of marketing who was recently named as a top 40 under 40 in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. Topics covered will include organizational change and culture, leadership development and vision, and human resources. This roundtable will add value to the MBA Module 1 experience, but all MBA students and alumni are invited to attend.
