HSB Ethics Panel
The Hamline School of Business hosted a thought-provoking discussion on the issues of ethics and character. Professor Mark Berkson (Religion, left), HSB Dean Julian Schuster (center), and Professor Duane Cady (Philosophy, right) shared their expertise and then facilitated a discussion with the audience. Mark Berkson's presentation was titled "Character and Its Limits: How to Understand and Minimize Moral Failure" - it was very timely in the wake of perceived ethical shortcomings of several of our business leaders. |

HSB Goes Italian
Dean Julian Schuster and HSB faculty members Jane McPeak and Fahima Aziz were recently in Modena, Italy to visit with our partner institution, the University of Modena-Reggio Emilia School of Economics and Business. The visit included guest lectures by Dean Schuster and Professor Aziz and meetings with administration and faculty regarding collaborative programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels. There was also an opportunity to have dinner with professors Paola Bertolini and Enrico Giovannetti, who visited HSB in August.

Announcing the Graduate Student Conference Fund
The Office of Graduate Student Life is pleased to announce the creation of the Graduate Student Conference Fund to support Hamline students as they pursue academic, professional, and artistic endeavors outside of the classroom.
The Conference Fund is designed to provide one-time funding to assist individual graduate students in attending appropriate academic and professional conferences, workshops, or meetings. Grants will be awarded up to $150 and are meant to reduce the student's expenses, not to provide full financial support for the activity. Grant monies may be used to reimburse registration fees, travel, lodging and food expenses.
