Professor David Schultz Granted Fulbright Scholarship
 
Professor David Schultz has been granted his second Modenainternational Fulbright Scholarship.  In 2008 Dr. Schultz traveled to Armenia to research and lecture on the topic of election law politics.  This award will take him to Corvinus University in Budapest, Hungry to lecture on public administration topics.  Congratulations to Dr. Schultz on this prestegious award.  Visit http://www.cies.org/ for more information about the Fulbright.
Professor Karen Somerville Speaks at the Academy of Management Conference
  
HSB Professor Karen Somerville was recently honored by the Academy of ModenaManagement.  Her paper, titled "Linking Change Drivers and the Organizational Change Process: A Review and Synthesis," was an Organization Development and Change Division Best Paper Finalist. She presented the paper at the Academy of Management's 2009 Annual Meeting in Chicago on August 11.  Karen will return to the Twin Cities later in August after a summer of researching, writing, presenting, and preparing for an international move from Ottawa to Minnesota. 
Kate Barr to Speak on Empowerment, Economy, and Equity  
 
Kate Barr, instructor in the Nonprofit Management program and Modenaexecutive director of Nonprofits Assistance Fund will speak at a the Minnesota Council of Foundation's Empowering, Economy, and Equity workshop on September 25.  The workshop will bring together leaders in the LGBT community for an energizing conversation on new ways for LGBT organizations to deepen relationships with funders and the community. 2009 Plan Sponsor Fiduciary Summit 

HSB will host the 2009 Plan Sponsor Fiduciary Summit.  The Summit is Thursday, September 17 from 7:30-11:30 a.m. in the Kay Fredericks Ballroom and will feature several distinguished guests and speakers on the topic of fiduciary liability concerns and practices.  HSB Dean Julian Schuster will open the Summit, welcome guests, and speak briefly regarding the Hamline School of Business.  For more information, visit the promotional flyer or contact hsb@hamline.edu.
