Hamline School of Business Weekly Update
7.31.09
Dr. Kramarczuk Visits European Universities and Congratulates Nikolay Megits

MBA/MAM Director Dr. Bob Kramarczuk recently returned from meetings in Europe to discuss potential programs for HSB students.  Highlights of the trip include:
  • A meeting with the Chamber of Commerce in Stockholm, Sweden to explore potential visits for HSB students. The discussion centered on developing connections with universities and businesses to coordinate an International Business/Finance MBA elective.
  • A visit with the Munich Business School and meeting with Dr. Stefan Baldi, Dean of the School, and Elvira Stephensen, Director of International Programs. Both Dean Baldi and Director Stephensen communicated strong satisfaction with the MBA student group that visited in September 2008. They especially underscored the quality of our students and the positive interactions that occured between students from Munich and Hamline.
  • A visit to the Universitas Libera Ucrainensis in Munich. This University would be an excellent base for HSB students to study the economic and business situation in Eastern Europe and, especially, in the former Soviet Union. Faculty interested in fostering a joint relationship should contact Dr. Kramarczuk.
  • An opportunity to be part of the Doctoral Committee for HSB part-time professor, Nikolay Megits. Dr. Megits passed with highest honors the defense of his PhD Thesis "Evaluating the Effectiveness of Foreign Direct Investments in the Construction Sector in Ukraine." Congratulations to Dr. Megits! It is almost certain that during the next year Dr. Megits, in collaboration with Dr. Serhij Reverchuk, Chair of the Finance and Investment Department of the Ukrainian Academy of Science, will publish a textbook for both graduate and undergraduate use.If you have the opportunity, please congratulate Dr. Megits at nmegits01@hamline.edu.
