HSB MBA to Cologne, Germany

CologneMBA students will have the opportunity to visit and study in Cologne, Germany in October 2009.  This elective course in the MBA program is titled Global Risk Management with travel dates of October 2 - 10, 2009.  Students will earn credits toward the International or Finance concentration.  Please see the program flyer with application materials and the schedule of events while in Germany.  Students must have completed or be registered for Module 3 by Fall 2009 to apply to the program. If interested, please apply soon.  Only 10 students will be able to enroll in this opportunity.
  
In October 2009, the HSB will also send two groups of students to China as part of the Introduction to Business in China course.  Two spots are still available for that trip.
Graduate Career Services at HSB Kickoffs
 

The Hamline School of Business is proud to offer career services to our graduate student population.  Graduate students have unique career needs that the School of Business is hoping to address through a series of workshops and individual coaching. 
 
On June 29 the program kicked off at the Minneapolis Center with a presentation by Clare Foley from Clare Foley and Associates.  She touched on job search strategies, positioning statements, and high impact resumes.  More workshops are available this summer.  In addition, 1 on 1 coaching is available for HSB graduate students.  Please check the workshop schedule and 1 on 1 schedule for more information and contact Joe Crosby with questions or to RSVP. 
Karen Somerville and Jenny Keil Present at Northeastern UniversityKaren

Karen Somerville recently presented her research and writing at the 9th International Conference on Knowledge, Culture, and Change in Organizations at Northeastern University in Boston,June 24-June 27, 2009.  Her first presentation was on a paper co-written and co-presented with Jenny Keil called "The Impact of an Advanced Business Degree on Men's and Women's Career Expectations." Modena
Her other two papers and presentations were titled "Organizational Change Management Skills: A Study of the Literature and the Education Available from Leading American and Canadian Organizations" and "Exploring the Impact of Change Drivers for First-Order versus Second-Order Change."
