Fall MPA/DPA Course Night Change
GPA 8498/8998 Topics: Local Government Planning has been moved to Monday nights. This new elective course provides an opportunity for students to learn from one of the top local government planners in the field. Heidi Welsch, Planning Director for Dakota County, will lead the class in a dynamic examination of how local governments use planning, analysis and evaluation to set strategic directions. These tools are especially in demand in times of tight budgets and the need to prioritize and evaluate spending. Students interested in this topic are urged to register for the course this fall as it may be over a year before it is offered again. Don't miss this opportunity to learn skills in high demand and explore the challenges and possibilities of good planning and evaluation work at a local level. |
Commencement Correction
The weather was beautiful, our graduates were the same, and the Hamline campus was festive and welcoming for the May 23 commencment ceremonies. However, we do have one minor correction to the day. MBA graduate Megan Vimont completed a thesis and successfully defended it on May 14. Her thesis title, which was omitted from the commencement program, is The Pareto Principle: Maximizing Profits for a Risk Management Firm. Her thesis was approved by committee members Allen Blair, Gary Jader, and Stephen Orme.
