Holt Endowed Fellowship
MBA Students Return from Italy

On May 8 the HSB announced a new fellowship program that will give HSB students and faculty the opportunity for international travel and experience.  The Holt Fellowship was established by Ann E. Holt in honor of her parents, Darrel and Elizabeth Holt, both graduates of Hamline University.  The Holts' enthusiastic love of life-long learning and deep appreciation for ethical development and leadership are evident in the mission, vision, and values of the Holt Fellowship.

For more information about the Fellowship including eligibility requirements and application instructions, please visit the Holt Endowed Fellowship web site. Reminder, applications for fall programs are due June 8.

In early May MBA students and faculty returned from an international experience in Modena, Italy.  They studied International Human Resources and (based on the photos) had a good time. They returned just in time to start the summer semester so photos and stories have been slow to emerge.  However, look for a link soon to photos of Hamline MBA students studying really hard in Modena, Italy.
Fall MPA/DPA Course Night Change

GPA 8498/8998 Topics: Local Government Planning has been moved to Monday nights. This new elective course provides an opportunity for students to learn from one of the top local government planners in the field. Heidi Welsch, Planning Director for Dakota County, will lead the class in a dynamic examination of how local governments use planning, analysis and evaluation to set strategic directions. These tools are especially in demand in times of tight budgets and the need to prioritize and evaluate spending. Students interested in this topic are urged to register for the course this fall as it may be over a year before it is offered again. Don't miss this opportunity to learn skills in high demand and explore the challenges and possibilities of good planning and evaluation work at a local level.
