And what is it that you are trying to do???
Did you ever try to impress anyone and have everything fall down around you???? Well...when the day is over all you can do is simply sit down in your favorite chair and either cry or laugh!!! I chose to laugh...yep, that is my nature...good sometimes - bad others.
The moment in question followed a wonderful day spent with around 10 of our newest closest friends. You see, we had this group of folks that came to the farm to learn more about these gentle creatures called alpacas. They came, and were joined by both of our daughters and good friend, Betty. We shared information about the nature of the alpaca, the care and the maintenance of the alpaca, and the potential for developing a realistic business opportunity with alpacas. Then came the moment we all had looked forward to all day...our time actually with the alpacas.
The participants looked forward to this time because many of them had never really been close to an alpaca...and Jude and I because we are proud of our pacas and like to show them off. Well...we made our way to the "boys" barn fully prepared to show off our beautiful, healthy, and active charges. We were fully armed with shots for three or four to demonstrate the technique of giving shots...then reality hit. We arrived at the barn and found a series of walking wounded, or so it appeared.
One of our true black male youngsters was having difficulty getting from one place to the other. This was not entirely unexpected since we are treating him with a medication that tends to make the muscles sore...but still it really looked bad!!! Then we looked out into the older male area...and saw another, not quite as young male, that had injured himself (evidently) while showing off his "herdsire" fighting qualifications...probably with an older, bigger dude. Of course, we had to stop the "teaching" to transistion to the emergency care mode...I reckon they learned from that as well...we sure did! :o)
Overall, the day went well...and ended up with a good discussion over freshly brewed The Alpaca Bean Coffee, and an understanding among the entire group that even "planned" life events do not always go as planned...nor should they. THAT is why I chose to lay my head back and laugh...rather than cry over life's crooks and turns.
Peace, and May the Blessings on The Holiday Season Remain With you Throughout Your Years!
