Shows and Stuff...
Well here we sit, about to start another alpaca show season...and we do not know where to begin! We need your help! Each year we look at all the shows and try to determine where to take our beautiful alpacas so that we can show them off...then we look at our energy meter and decide which of these shows we also want to take along the Alpaca Bean Booth. This year we are thinking about doing things a bit differently...we hope to look at the differing shows and decide if we would like to take only The Alpaca Bean Booth to some.
Why??? Well, we are really wanting to spend quality time with family and friends while at the differing shows. When we take both alpacas and coffee, we are very often split up and someone is left out of some of the fun stuff involving the alpacas...while someone else is left out of the fun stuff surrounding the booth. "So what?", You may ask, "Isn't that part of the business?" If I answered honestly I would simply agree...that is when we take both conflicting things to the shows...kinda' like we asked for it and we got it! >o) However, this year we are tryin' to make a change...that is where you come into this equation!
Can you help us identify shows or events that might enjoy having the coffee booth? Now I know for some of you this is an unfair question...that is, you may not have ever experienced the friendly, carefree environment we provide in the world of "high tension" alpaca competition! :o) Let me tell you a bit about our setup (where allowed)...first, we set up a booth that is attractive and inviting. We then add differing elements from our farm and our coffee businesses...added to that is a section that provides (again where allowed) liquid coffee for consumption...we take contributions for the coffee and all the proceeds go to alpaca research. Most of the time that means that the Alpaca Research Foundation receives a check at the end of the show season (if we can find events that allow this). Oh yeah, we also like to talk about alpacas and the coffee that comes from the lands of the alpaca. We will spend whatever time it takes to answer any and all questions about both ---or either!
If you have ideas please contact us at bestcoffee@thealpacabean.biz. The events do not have to be alpaca shows...however, if we provide coffee at events other than alpaca shows, we will donate 40% of the coffee proceeds to alpaca research. Why the difference? Well, we want to support the alpaca industry; however, as business owners we know that if we go to too many events without bringing in at least enough income to cover expenses...well, we would not be in the alpaca or coffee business too long. That would not be good from our viewpoint! We like you too much and we would simply enter a deep blue funk if forced to depart before our time! :o)
We really look forward to your responses! We will listen, we will look at our calendar and our pocket book...check the energy meters and set a schedule! We're excited and looking forward to the year!

On a Personal Note:
This is not a normal time for us. We are dealing with stuff that we are not too up for during these days. After losing Judy's Mom, our Mom...well, we just are having a tuff time...however, your loving concern and contacts have helped us move through each day.
You see, Mom not only added to our daily lives living here with us...she became a very strong part of our home, our farm, HER farm (Pinkie's 'Pacas), and our world in general. It seems that everything we do, every time we look at her alpacas, everytime we hear familiar sounds...like her "bird" clock...we pause and see her beautiful smile in our minds' eyes.
We know that as time passes, we will accept this natural part of our lives and move on...but for now...
In memory of this fantastic lady...please keep smilin', keep lovin', and keep your 'pacas pronkin'...cause that is the way Ms. Pinkie would want it.
Again...thank you for the many notes, calls, prayers, and comments. We hope to continue hearing from you and can assure you that you will continue hearing from us...cause that is the way MOM would want it!
