On A Personal Note...
Thanksgiving 2009
You know each day brings about another reason to be thankful...a new puppy that steals your heart...a baby cria that is just so perfect...a dear, dear family to share life with...and friends that you care for and that care for you...but most of all knowing a loving God that looks over all of us in happiness and in times of need.
As we all sit down to a big delicious meal this year, we will all ask that our bounty be blessed, and that we all have good health throughout the year. We will express all that we are thankful for, and look around at the family and friends we love that are gathered around the table(s). You know that is great, and a great time to let folks we care for know of our love for them...but, there are many other times that we do not take time to say the same things...times lost forever. I guess what I am saying is that you cannot say thanks, or I love you, too much...well, not to most folks...and I am gonna' try harder this year to not wait 'til a special day in November to share my feelings for the special times and events...and friends and family...that make up my life. Don't worry, I won't shout, "Group HUG!!" and grab you in a bear hug...well, not too often anyhow. :o)
Each and every stage of my life have brought about opportunities to meet and keep really good friends. This one is especially neat since Judy and I are "the bosses" of our workplaces. We have the great opportunity to let the dear little darlings of our alpaca herd bring folks to our home, we also have the many blessed opportunities to share a laugh or discussion with friends (and soon to be friends) over a good mug or cup of our favorite coffee, The Alpaca Bean!
Until we meet again...always be alert...you never know when you might hear, "Group HUG!" Thanks for being who you are...and remember no matter who you are...you are loved!
The Coffeeman
PS: After writing this (cause you know you have to do these things in advance), Judy and I went to the VAOBA Alpaca Show in Virginia...we were staying in a fairly remote area at a beautiful alpaca/horse farm with a b&b. Well, on Sunday morning around 3 am I woke up and could not go back to sleep, you see my heart had gone into atrial fibrillation and we did not know what to do...Jude called 911 and we prayed. It turns out that the EMS team that responded was wonderful and they took me to a hospital in a small community called Augusta Health. Let me tell you, if you are having heart problems, I hope you get the care I got. Ofcourse when they told me they were going to shock my heart back in shape, it did worry me a bit. But you know the biggest kicker??? They told me I had to stay away from drinks with a jolt until my doctors back home figure out what caused my problem. Good thing The Alpaca Bean has a great decaf!! Judy and I left the hospital just in time to take a shower and get to the arena...I got a chance to walk my man, All That Jazz-Bo! That is all I did that day, but what a great thankful feeling I had come over me...one that will stay with me for a long, long time. |
