Happy Spook Day!!!
Want to get ready for those little darlings that will be knocking on your door soon??? You know you will need a bunch of candy and other treats...a good giving candy away costume is always a hit...maybe even one of those remote control talking heads would be fun! Most of all you need kids that want to knock on your door!
When Jude and I lived in a tightly bunched subdivision in Irmo, SC, we always had tons of those little demons and angels knocking...now we live at the end of an almost one mile lane surrounded by our own little angels, but no kids! Each of the last few years, I've badgered Judy to buy sacks and sacks of sweet stuff, and against her best judgement she always gets a small amount. And then no kids show up and we are left with candy neither of us should be eating.
Now I have the perfect solution! I will not ask for the candy, instead I am gonna' roast up a select roast and treat the folks that order on our web store with an extra bag of coffee added to their order at no cost! Yep, that is what I am going to do! I will have my own little Octoberfest coupled with Spook Day all during the month of October...AND be able to celebrate my birth month by saying thanks for ordering from this ol' dude!
Enjoy shopping, but give it some thought...you just may want to come on out to the farm and catch a sight of the alpacas - the angels - in their splender. Look us up on mapquest, or Google, or whatever...give us a call...then get in that vehicle and boogie on over!
Til then we will be roastin' and treatin' all that knock!!!

Football Season is in full swing and we are now looking forward to basketball already! Man, do all the seasons roll around really quickly anymore! There truly is a nip in the air - even here in Georgia - and the alpaca show season 2009-2010 is gearing up in a hurry. We enjoy the shows, but we really used to enjoy them more...you see, we use to go to the shows and give out our coffee and take donations for the Alpaca Research Foundation. It was our way of saying, "Thanks," to the folks that do the research for the health of our alpacas. We were able to provide a pick-me-up for the alpaca owners at the shows, make new friends, and simply share a story or two with some of our old friends.
Alas, we evidently became too popular of a gathering place, and soon the concessionaires decided that they did not need the competition. We always asked the folks getting the coffee to support the food and drink concessions and believe that we probably did not take away from the profit of the inhouse folks, but with success sometimes we face disappointment as well.
Judy and I have decided that we could continue having a booth at the shows, however, if we cannot provide the coffee that helps build the bridge for friendships...well, it just seems somewhat empty...let us know what you think.
We will have our alpacas at the shows, we will have a farm display, and where allowed, we will have a coffee pot on site...just in case a few friends want to drop by for some good conversation and time spent sharing tall tales. If a show allows us to provide full service for the benefit of the Alpaca Research Foundation, we will have a booth with all the coffee roasts available...
We just wanted you to know that we have not willingly bowed out on the Foundation, or for that matter on you! Judy and I will continue making donations to The Alpaca Research Foundation, as will The Alpaca Bean Coffee Company; we hope you will as well. With that said, we look forward to seeing each of you on the floor of the arenas...maybe we can tell you about the time...
