 Happy Birthday U.S.A.!!!!!! |

(Ah...Summertime, when the livin' is easy and the dew is on the roses! Your precious lil' crias are growin' and you have grass that needs mowin'! Now that is not all bad - now is it? Well, I am not a poet, but at least our alpacas still hummmmm to me every time I become touched with the need to become vocal with my verse!)
I have found that sitting on our barn deck, drinking coffee in the mid-afternoon, is a mite too hot in July...matter of fact sitting UNDER our barn deck sippin' hot Bolivian or Peruvian can really bring up a sweat these days! Speaking of hot (we were speaking of hot weren't we?), we also have found that we have to take our chocolate covered espresso beans off the shipping table during these summer months as well. You see, our supplier takes our Peruvian beans that we have roasted to an espresso level and covers them with PURE chocolate. NO PARAFFIN can be found in these delicious treats...thus they will melt in your hand if you are not careful. They will also melt in the mail, even if you are careful. So, we do not ship between June and the end of September. You can come to the farm and get them anytime however!!! Where was I, oh yes...sitting outside sipping your favorite mug of The Alpaca Bean Coffee in the middle of the day may become hazardous to your health if, say you live in the deep south...you know, anything south of Cleveland, Ohio. But there is an alternative! You can drink your Peruvian, or your Bolivian, or even your favorite house blend, outside in the morning...then move inside to your den, or your home office...or, if you are lucky, your alpaca farm office!
Now all you have to do is decide if you would rather drink your full city Peruvian Especial or your full city Bodacious Bolivian...that, my friends, is a difficult order. You see, they both are great! But maybe we can help.
Do you like a mellow, with a slight hint of fruit taste? (Well, if you are cupping the coffee you would get a more pronounced taste experience, thus being able to sense the fruity taste...) Do you like a brew that can be made strong and still not lose its character? Do you like a brew with character...but one that does not overwhelm you with a strong aftertaste? If so, you may like Peruvian Especial Full City.
Do you like a brew that is distinctive and will motivate your taste buds each time you sip from your mug? Would you like a brew that is pleasing at first sip and has a very pleasant aftertaste that will linger with you - making you want still more each time you reach the bottom of the cup or mug? Then you may like the Bodacious Bolivian Full City roast.
How to find out???? There is only one way, let us send you one or both of these fine coffees at a price that is meant for the summer months! We will be offering each of these wonderful coffees at a reduced price during July! Yep, you can get either one in the 14 oz size for $7.00 this month, instead of the ususal price of $8.75. How? Well all you have to do is log onto http://www.thealpacabean.com and make your selections. Wait a minute!!!!! We are also offering our Peruvian Especial Decaf for $7.00 in honor of our special July lady...Pinkie Speth! For those that do not know, this month Ms. Pinkie will be 95...
I just love putting these offers together to make you sweat your decisions! :o) You might as well play along with me on these things, 'cause we are gonna' get you! It may be today, it may be tomorrow, but it will be sometime...all it takes is one sip...then...we gotcha! Thanks friends, and until next time, I am off to our "outback" to knock back a very good mug of our coffee of the day!

On A Personal Note......
Walnut Knoll Farm would not be a complete home without the original "Steel Magnolia" living here. Lucille W. (Pinkie) Speth is the owner of Pinkie's 'Pacas at Walnut Knoll. She also is Judy's Mother and she is having a birthday this month. It will be one to remember, she will turn 95 in a year that will see a number of new crias added to her herd... She also will be making her recovery from a nasty fall that has slowed her down a bit. That may have put a bit of a hitch in her giddyup, but that will not dampen her day, nor will it lessen the joy of all that will gather throughout the month to spend a moment, a day, or maybe even longer in the presence of this angel on earth. Pinkie is the reason we offer a decaf, whether it be Pinkie's 'Pacas Decaf or the current Peruvian Especial Decaf. It had to be good to pass the taste test, but we feel we have done that in spades!!
Thanks Mom for making our home complete! May you (and we all) have many, many more wonderful years to enjoy your decaf while watching those little ones pronk across the fields behind our home. May God continue to bless you, and in turn, everyone that has the fortune of finding themselves in your presence here in our lit' bit of heaven on earth!!!
