House Blends -- What Are They?
Here we are at the beginning of summer, and most folks have visions of lemonade or iced tea...or perhaps some other cold refreshing drink! But you know there is no better beverage to start your day than a good mug of coffee...especially if it is a really good roast! This month we are presenting you with a dilemma! You have before you two, yes I said two, house blends. Now what company in their right minds would develop two house blends and then try to sell them to a customer base as uniquely linked to its brand??? Well, no one ever accused me, or us, of being totally sane!
Since we are also in the business of developing outstanding alpacas through selective breeding, we have learned that you can blend differing portions of blood lines to create something that is exciting. healthy, dense, fine and attractive...and we have been successful! Well, the coffee business allows us to blend the unique flavors of the coffee beans grown in Peru and Bolivia in a variety of amounts to create a taste, or tastes, that is/are both enticing and pleasing. The trouble we have now is how to convince you that it really is alright to have two signature coffee blends to represent, The Alpaca Bean Coffee Company! We think that all it will take is for you to give them both a try, so we are offering them to you as a bargain this month. Just look below to see that outstanding offer!
So what is a house blend supposed to say? In our case, we feel that it says we are willing to experiment, listen to comments, experiment, listen to comments, and then stamp our endorsement of the blend as one that we feel is somewhat unique to our company. Both Pebo's Cafe' Grande and Bravo Bo-Ruvian have stood the tests, been modified by roasting method and composition, and emerged as quality brews. We are proud to name them both, House Blends, and look forward to having you give them a try.
Does this make the house blends better than all the other roasts we offer? Not really, it merely provides an alternative to single bean coffee flavors. You may like a blended coffee taste, or you may find that a single bean roast is more to your liking...only you can decide that! But isn't that part of the fun of any beverage? Individual tastes will always rule what you put in a mug, or a glass, for that matter! Personally, I really like a good glass of lemonade in the summer...and you cannot beat a big glass of iced tea...but I refuse to give up my favorite drink...my mug of coffee in the morning...or my mug of coffee on a rainy day...or my mug of coffee over a good book...or my mug of coffee with good conversation...or - well, you get the picture!
Man...it must be time for a good mug of coffee, don't you think? Until next month, do not ever forget the old wise man's quote, "Life is too short to drink a bad cup of coffee!"
