Got a Cluttered Mind?

Happy August. Can you believe summer is almost gone?
 
Where does the time go?
 
So many people I talk to are feeling a little stressed thinking about the
return of the school year for their kids, their less than optimal diet
while they've been in "summer mode" and the natural tendency for
their work load to pick up in the Fall!!
 
For those who have been following me for a while, you know my philosophy
on this.
 
Breathe.
 
Pick one thing you want to work on.
 
Then simply go do it.
 
Lose the guilt.
 
And remember to keep it simple.
 
In typical "Jenn fashion" here are a few shortcuts to weight loss, less stress AND
greater productivity (for all my business owners out there!).
 
Try them for 2 weeks and you WILL notice a difference. Guaranteed.
 
 
Jenn's Shortcuts-"Just" Do It:
 
 
 
TIP #1: SKIP THE COFFEE, BLACK TEAS AND DIET STUFF AND JUST DRINK WATER.
 
Contrary to popular belief caffeine does not help you focus long term or lose weight. In fact in can cause you to feel really unfocused, nervous and even cause weight gain. And if you drink diet anything you're just asking for the pounds to pile on! Instead, drink water, flavored seltzer and get more sleep if you're tired.
 
 
 
TIP #2: JUST GET MOVING- GET OUT OF THE OFFICE, GO FOR A WALK, PLAY GOLF, DO SOMETHING ACTIVE FOR 15 MINUTES/DAY
 
If you sit around MORE then you move during the day, expect to feel sluggish, uncreative and most likely you will gain weight. I don't care what kind of new diet you put yourself on. More calories consumed versus burned= weight gain. So get out from behind your desk and just do something. Anything.


 
TIP #3: EAT AN APPLE & HANDFUL OF UNSALTED NUTS -JUST TRY IT.

Most people I know struggle with focus at 3pm followed by overeating at dinner. They come home from a long day hungry and cranky. They have low blood sugar at around 5pm which causes them to eat uncontrollably at night. Eat an apple around 3pm-4pm and you WILL notice a difference at dinnertime. Guaranteed.
 
 
TIP #4: JUST SAY NO!
 
Most people I know, including my former self, commit to too many things in one month, one week and frankly one day. Make a list of what's important to you on any given day and just say no when an offer comes across your desk to "do something" this evening or weekend. Peace of mind comes to those who do less.
