Visitor E-news August 2012 Vol. 2

Greetings,

Even though school will be starting up again soon and the summer is flying by, there is still time to come and visit the Boothbay Harbor Region!

Did you know that Boothbay Harbor was listed as one of the top 10 prettiest villages in Maine in the September issue of DownEast Magazine? Our little corner of Maine has been getting a  lot of press lately from as far away as San Antonio, Texas, Miami, Florida, and New York City. There is a fantastic article in the New York Times about Rachel Carson and her ties to our area. Freelance writer Kathleen Scott published an article about her visit in the San Antonio Express NewsAn article in the Miami Herald gives excellent advice on visiting Maine for First-Timers. Whether these stories get shared among just a few friends or with a nation-wide reader base, we are  just happy that our region has touched the hearts of these writers and so many other visitors!

We have been visited by many different people this summer, from first-time visitors to  those who have been coming for years. We have welcomed young couples just starting their lives together, families, tour groups, people returning after several decades to celebrate a special anniversary, and so many more. We would love to have you come and visit so that you can create your own special memories of our region!

Warm wishes,

Catherine Wygant
