Greetings,
Summer is in full swing! The streets of Boothbay Harbor are lined with cars from all over New England, the Maritime Provinces of Canada, and as far away as California and New Mexico.
The Boothbay Harbor Region has a lot to be proud of this summer. Local resident Ellie Logan has helped lead the U.S. Women's Rowing Team to not one but two gold medals in the Olympic Games in London. Dr. Aqui Alamo, the intrepid jogger who won the race from Rockport Harbor to Boothbay Harbor against the Schooner Timberwind in our first ever Jammers and Joggers event, will be featured in the October issue of Runner's World. Maine Magazine sent some of its staff to spend 48 Hours in Boothbay Harbor. They wrote a lovely article which highlights a lot of our local merchants and which touches on just a few of the many things to do here in our region. We are thrilled that so many of our friends and neighbors are being recognized for their hard work and accomplishments!
Even though the summer is flying by, there are still plenty of opportunities to plan a getaway to our peninsula. We hope to see you soon!
Warm wishes,
Catherine Wygant
Executive Director

Meadow Creek Farm
Dwayne and Becky Durgin are the owners of Meadow Creek Farm, a small family horse farm nestled in the western foothills of Maine. Their business started in 1997 by offering horse drawn wagon and sleigh rides and now has gone into parts of New Hampshire. Now with the growing demand for their professionalism and the beauty of their horses Bill and Ben, they have been able to acquire a horse drawn wedding carriage to do weddings, anniversaries and other special occasions. The beauty of the pure white horse drawn wedding carriage with red velvet seats is pulled by their team of Belgians, who also dress for your occasion. Let their sweet kind eyes and gentle souls all dressed in their harnesses of patent leather with silver spots and colorful flowers with ribbons in their manes and tails carry you off.
