The Deck House School

Head of School - Dr. Melinda Browne

Director of Marketing & Development - Tom Blackford

The Deck House School is a NEASC accredited college preparatory boarding school for boys ages 15-19 who, for a variety of reasons, have been unable to reach their potential in more traditional academic settings.  With an enrollment of 12 students, the school creates a small community that builds positive relationships and encourages social, emotional and academic growth.  The School offers a college preparatory curriculum comparable to that of many selective boarding schools. This is coupled with daily support, positive peer pressure and a disciplined, highly-structured community environment. Our 180-acre wooded campus is located in Edgecomb on a hill overlooking the Sheepscot River.  Students are able to take advantage of the many cultural and natural resources of the mid-coast region through field trips, community service and our co-curricular program.  With a traditional academic calendar and a summer semester, The Deck House School is in year-round operation.

Media Recap:

The Marketing Workshop that took place on January 31st at the Boothbay Craft Brewery was a tremendous success, bringing  about 50 people out on a snowy winter night to participate in an evening of collaboration. The Mitchell's and Frank Fassett were incredible hosts, offering samplings of two of their freshly brewed ales (outstanding, by the way!  Even a few non beer lovers reported that they had been transformed!).  Brick oven pizza, an array of appetizers and tasty sweets (compliments of And Candy Too!) also added to the festive evening. But it wasn't all fun and games and there was plenty of brainstorming going on as well, as the group shared great ideas on working together to increase everyone's bottom line!  The workshop also featured two packaging presentations:  The Art of Packaging, presented by Lori Pecor of the Chamber and Packaging, presented by Margaret Hoffman, Development Project Officer for the Maine Office of Tourism.

Do you have a topic that you would like to bring to our 'Round Table'? Call us today to share your ideas and we'll schedule the next one.
