New Leadership-trees

2012 saw the beginning of a new era at Mahan Rykiel Associates. With the retirement of founder, Catherine Mahan, and a growing national and international profile, Mahan Rykiel Associates is pleased to announce the following additions to the firm's leadership.

 3 new leaders

Richard Jones, as President, and Cathy Snellinger, as CFO, join co-founder, Scott Rykiel, FASLA in managing the firm, building on the high design standard expected by  our clients. Richard, who in addition to his executive duties has been appointed Design Director, joined the firm in 2002. During his tenure with Mahan Rykiel, he has served as lead designer on several noteworthy and award winning projects including the Four Seasons Baltimore, The Vue at Harbor East and the T. Rowe Price Corporate Campus. Cathy Snellinger now serves as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Throughout her more than 25 years with the firm, Cathy has served the office in various roles from accounting to human resources and currently oversees all the aspects of the firm's financial operations.

We are also pleased to announce the promotion of Warren Timlen, RLA to Principal. With over 14 years at Mahan Rykiel, Warren leads a team of designers in planning, retail and international projects. Warren is interested in the complimentary combination of hardscape and planting elements working together to provide the best possible design solutions. He is an expert in quick conceptualization and shepherds these concepts through the entire design process. He enjoys the variety and challenge of working both here and abroad.

Nathan Scott, LEED AP BD+C has been promoted to Associate. Of particular interest to Nate is the design of public open spaces as well as urban design and planning, where he enjoys working collaboratively with clients and other professionals to create places that have lasting meaning. He has spent time in numerous towns around the country helping to craft revitalization plans with community stakeholders. In addition, he also has experience on a number of park master plans for Baltimore City.

Ryan Cosgrove, LEED AP BD+C has also been named an Associate. He has seven years of experience in site design from projects ranging from campuses to multi-use developments to park projects.
