Hello again,

"It is getting to be our time." Those seasoned words were very matter of factly spoken to me by my uncle John Skillin about 15 years ago one night after work in mid March. While the words were "matter of fact" anyone who knew John knew he had "soul" and that there was passion and leadership behind his words. He loved gardening, he loved Spring and all the promise it brings and he loved it when people tried new things in gardening. That is what "this time" is all about--the promise, the gardening season ahead and all the good that comes with it. This is not meant to be a social commentary but can anyone deny that we need "this time" more than ever? It is here.

This weekend March 18 through March 20 is our Spring Open House at Skillin's Falmouth. The first day of Spring is March 20 so this will truly be the first Garden Show of the Spring. This show is quite the annual event and will feature landscape exhibits, tasty refreshments, colorful plants, scents that will immediately inject you with the spirit of Spring and lots and lots of items on sale! Our great friends from the Maine Orchid Society will be here on March 19 and March 20 in Falmouth and they love to talk Orchids! Come see us--old friends and new--you mean so much to us!
