School's out for summer!
Summer is here, hopefully the fog will be kind to us. Hard to believe that Father's Day and Fourth of July are upon us. See our ideas about what to do and where to go.
We need you! We love to hear from other parents with tips about kid-friendly restaurants, activities, and more. We're also always looking for people to write feature articles. If you have something you'd like to submit, we'd love to hear from you.

"Which camp will your daughter go to this summer?" my friend asked me about a week ago. "In this economy?" I replied. "We're doing Mom Camp this summer!" In defiance of strict San Francisco parent law my family eschewed children's day camps this summer season in favor of something radical and exhausting. Entertaining the kids my own damn self. Summer Learning | |
While summer brings us great relaxation, unfortunately it also leads to learning loss.
San Francisco's New Day for Learning formed a Summer Learning Network to help summer camps encourage reading, physical activity and healthy eating in their programs to help address this issue. Parents can adopt the same great Countdown for Summer guidelines to support kids in these six engaging and healthy ways:
5 days a week of active play 4 new places to visit 3 fresh fruits & vegetables daily 2 summer projects 1 once a day with a good book 0 soda
SFkids.org is a great place to find resources for all six strategies.
