For Immediate Release: Printmaking on Paper and Glass by Scranton based artist Keith Garubba   Pittsburgh, PA - July 12, 2012 Printmaker Keith Garubba began creating rose window designs after the death of his uncle. From this intimate level, Garubba's work not only addresses themes of human-connectedness through a broad view of beliefs, relationships, and structures, but also seeks to understand and meld our collective multi-cultural inheritance through the use of combined imagery and symbology. It is with great pleasure that we present Garubba's new exhibition, The Living Rose Window, which will run from July 24th through August 18th at Box Heart Gallery. Join us on Saturday, July 28th from 5-8pm for Garubba's opening reception. It is free and open to the public. Saturday, July 28th, 5-8pm Free and open to the public.     About the Artist As an artist represented by Box Heart Gallery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and the AFA Gallery in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Keith Garubba began showing his work in invitational and juried shows throughout the state. Notably among these, the special exhibit "Urbanic II: Catalyzing a Regional Economic Renaissance," a display of works at the Pittsburgh International Airport in conjunction with the G-20 Pittsburgh Summit, as well as its sequel exhibition "Urbanic III: Expanding the Microcosm" as part of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Gallery Crawl. In 2009 and 2010, Garubba was awarded a research grant to investigate the unique process of silkscreening enamels onto glass. This exploration has led to expertise in this process and the continued professional production of works in this medium, including commissioned works for patron's homes. With his work published and acquired by private collections, Garubba graduated from Keystone College as the Outstanding Graduate in May, 2010. Since that time, Garubba's professional and artistic growth has continued to flourish. His work was selected for the set of the major motion picture "Abduction," starring Sigourney Weaver and Taylor Lautner. In January of 2011, his work was included in the "25th International Juried Show" at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey, which was juried by Joan Young of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.
