Free and open to the Public.
Lidia Simeonova's artwork is a reflection of her life. She has
projected frozen moments, good and bad, onto her canvas. As her style
and personality matured, she has traveled the world. Simeonova's
artwork tells her story, a story of different periods in her personal
and creative life.
Born in Bulgaria, Simeonova received
her masters of Fine Arts from Velico Tarnovo University. Her free
spirit, and lust for discovery and exploration fueled a worldwide
journey. From Bulgaria, Simeonova moved with family to Czechoslovakia
and then to Germany. Uprooting her life with two children proved both
adventurous and challenging. Once in Germany, Simeonova found herself
eased and inspired by many traditions, cultures, and good friends. She
kept painting.
When she moved to the United Stated
in 1994, Simeonova discovered another world, the world of electronics
and computers. She became a graphic designer and a clay modeler for
General Motors.
Although her portfolio reflects a
variety of media and styles, the human figure has always persisted in
the creative process. Simeonova attempts to achieve artwork in which
life and painting blend in a perfect existential poem. She paints to
present the viewer with a harmonious, contemplative image, which speaks
to the spiritual complexities of our existence.
