The documentary, produced and directed by Carole Hart, award-winning television and film producer/writer, narrated by Ashley Judd with music by Peter Buffet, took five years in the making.  The documentary was shot on location in the Amazon rain forest, the mountains of Mexico, North America, and at a private meeting with the Dalai Lama in India. 

This is a story of the journey of 13 Indigenous Grandmothers and their teachings as they lead a way of being for a new earth and a sustainable planet.  As we now face a world in crisis and great change, the thirteen Grandmothers, bring forth a well needed healing and collectively call out to the world for change now, before it's too late.

The Grandmothers' Council comes together every six months, as they travel the world to each other's homelands to cultivate their unified prayer for peace.   Women and men alike are coming together, and are gathering at the 7th Gathering of the International Council of Thirteen Grandmothers, the last conference in the United States until July 2012. 

Grandmother Mona, Hopi/Tewa/Havasupai elder, hosted this gathering where the Grandmothers convened around a round table each day as well as offer their prayers at a Sacred Fire site. The Sacred Fire that burned for this event had been going around the world since 1986 for World Peace, and was brought to Sedona to light the fire that burned  for 7 days 24 hours a day.
