MENTAL HOUSEKEEPING 
When we are talking or thinking about things we want in a positive manner, we are engaging in positive thinking.
On the other hand, when we are thinking and talking about things we do not desire, we are engaging in negative thinking. In either case, the thoughts and words we engage in have their own energetic power. What we focus on  draws energy and only gets stronger.  

Our words are heard by our subconscious mind who hears every word we say, takes it all in literally, and then converts it into pictures and images. Every time we use language such as "I can't, I won't be able to, I can never, it will never" we are engaging in negative thinking.This kind of thinking or talking is like a photographic negative for the subconscious to store. It is the opposite of the positive picture we need to have for our subconscious mind to "go for it". Sabotage occurs whenever there is a negative or threatening "image" of our goal in our subconscious.

The trick to getting what you want is to create a positive image of your success in your mind for your subconscious mind to grab hold of. Athletes do it all the time. Why not all of us?


Avoid using phrases such as, "This job is killing me", or "That makes me sick", or "I can't imagine that happening to me" as this only continues to create more of what you don't want. Listen carefully to your inner language and take note of when you are talking in a negative manner. If you catch yourself, you can actually say, "Cancel, Cancel" to energetically interrupt the flow of energy. Shift to re-framing the statement. For example, instead of saying, "I just cannot lose the weight" consider, "Up until now I might have had challenges losing weight, but I am open to the possibility that I am being led to the information that I need to reach my goal". A more positive statement actually shifts the energy to one of hope or optimism. Vibrationally that puts you in a better position to match up with what you want.

In The Silva Life Training there is a statement, "Every day in ever way, I am getting better and better." Try that out for a daily mantra to remind you to count your blessings, stay on track and reaffirm those things you desire.

anti inflammatory foodsINFLAMMATION: THE SILENT KILLER 

It is becoming increasingly clear that chronic inflammation is the root cause of many serious illnesses including heart disease, many types of cancers, and Alzheimer's disease. Inflammation is the body's natural response to damage or injury. It's a good thing. But although inflammation, like the stress response, is good for the short term, when it persists it damages the body and causes illness. Although stress, toxins, lack of exercise contribute to inflammation dietary choices play a big role as well.

How do you know if you are "inflamed"? There are a few indicators. Ask your doctor to draw a CRP test. This stands for C Reactive Protein.  During periods of inflammation, such as an actual injury, this blood test will be high. But if absent any injury your CRP runs chronically above 4, you definitely need to take action. A CRP is not specific as to what is inflamed, just that inflammation is present.

People tend to focus on the cholesterol test and neglect to look at inflammation. Cholesterol is only problematic when it is oxidized, or damaged! This will trigger the inflammation response. Many cardiac patients had "normal" cholesterol levels and still had heart attacks. Inflammation is the bullet in the gun.

Another indicator: If you crave cold icy beverages, that could indicate your body's natural need to seek something to cool it down. Since we are all risk in today's world of increased stress and mega- toxins it behooves us to seek to eat foods with a high ORAC score.  
ORAC stands for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity. A high ORAC score means that the food has a capacity to bond with free radicals, those pesky unpaired molecules that are damaging your healthy cells, causing the damage that leads to the inflammatory response. High ORAC foods serve as friendly anti-oxidants. And the more of them coming in, the better!

A great website to check out what foods have a high ORAC score is www.oracvalues.com. Seek to add high ORAC foods to your daily intake.

There are certain foods that you want to avoid because of their tendency to produce inflammation:
  • Fried or highly processed food
  • Grilled or rapidly heated food 
  • Refined sugars and refined carbohydrates
  • Dairy
  • Excessive alcohol or tobacco
  • Sodium and processed table salt
  • Corn oil  
  • Tomatoes, eggplant and peppers.They are nightshades and contribute to inflammation.
