tears
THE ENERGY OF TEARS
Everyone agrees that laughter is good medicine.
The truth is, as adults we really don't laugh enough. Laughter not only feels really good but it boosts the immune system. But what about the flip side of the coin to laughing? Could there be a health benefit when we let our tears flow?

When we were born we announced our arrival with a loud cry. The louder the cry the higher our Apgar score. The sound of a baby crying is meant to draw a quick response. God's way of making sure we are cared for, and quickly. As little kids we cried easily. But t didn't take long before we got the message that crying for the most part, was not an acceptable thing to do.

"I will give you something to cry about." "Don't be a sissy" "Don't be so sensitive". "Only babies cry so be a big boy, big girl and stop crying". For many of us there was a point where we plugged up our tears in order to stay safe...from ridicule, from embarrassment, maybe even from punishment. Crying became a sign of weakness. Once we became convinced it was not safe to cry, that belief downloaded into the subconscious programming. If left unchecked or never questioned it could still be there today running our adult lives.

The body is so remarkable because of it's natural ability to heal. Crying is actually a beautiful body/mind response to the energy of emotion. Not all crying is about sadness. We could be moved to tears just listening to beautiful music, or watching a movie that stirs up our emotion. We can get emotional at weddings and graduations as well as during times of loss. We can laugh until we cry.

Unfortunately when we see others cry we run for a box of  tissues. It can be uncomfortable to watch others cry so we take it upon ourselves to help them move through it quickly, when in fact, the body is doing the best technique it knows to releasing the energy of that emotion. Pushing back our tears does not assist the body staying in balance. In fact pushing back tears (or any feeling for that matter) often leads to emotional overeating, or over drinking or other addictions.

I know people who tell me they never cry. As a nation of people we have not realized the value of crying. Not all cultures are as restrictive. An ancient tribal proverb in India says that "before we can see properly we must first shed our tears to clear the way". Having a good cry is not only natural but extremely cathartic. So the next time you feel on the verge of tears, let them come. You will feel better for having done so.

"Heaven knows we need never be ashamed for our tears for they are rain upon the blinding dust of earth, overlying our hard hearts. I was better after I had cried, than before - more sorry, more aware of my own ingratitude, more gentle."

healthy foodSAGE ADVICE ON EATING
I
recently came across a file I saved a while back. I don't know who wrote it so I can't give anyone the credit. It's 20 tips about eating food. I enjoyed reading it and thought it had merit so I am passing some of it along for your enjoyment.
  • Do not eat egg salad from a vending machine.
  • If you are not hungry enough to eat an apple, then you are not hungry.
  • Avoid snack foods with the "oh" sound in their names: Doritos, Cheetos, Tostitos, Ho Hos, etc.
  • No second helpings, no matter how scrumptious
  • It's better to pay the grocer than your doctor.
  • You may not leave the table until you finish your fruit.
  • You don't get fat on food you pray over.
  • Breakfast eat alone. Lunch share with a friend. Dinner give to your enemy.
  • Never eat something that is pretending to be something else (artificial sweeteners, margarine, etc.)
  • Don't yuk someone's yum. There is someone out there who likes deep-fried sheep eyeballs, and, well, more power to them.
  • Make and take your own lunch to work.
  • Eat until you are seven-tenths full and save the other three-tenths for hunger.
  • When you are eating, don't talk about other past meals, whether better or worse. Focus on what's in front of you.
  • Don't eat anything that took more energy to ship than grow.

Learn the Basics of EFT - Meridian Tapping

The Emotional Freedom Techniques or EFT is a powerful self-help tool based on Traditional Chinese Medicine for releasing negative emotions and limiting beliefs.

Most of us are plagued by old stuck energy patterns
. We habituate to these patterns automatically. It's the way our brains work. Unfortunately until we learn how to release these old patterns, trying to enact positive change will be difficult and leaves us feeling frustrated.

EFT works like emotional acupressure to quickly, gently and and easily remove the negative emotions and beliefs that are at the root of our problems and pain.

As a nurse and EFT practitioner, I will teach you how you can use EFT on yourself and others to help you attain management of your emotions, freeing you from the stress and anxiety that stand between you and your happiness.
EFT has a proven 90% success.

tina 1"It is my passion and desire to contribute to the betterment of the world by spreading the message that a state of well being is for everyone. No matter how old you are, or what stage you are in, or what you have been through, I believe that you can find your way back to the Wholeness that was always your birthright.  We are born magnificent beings but get conditioned into mediocrity. It is up to you to pick up the map to find your way back. And I'll help you anyway I can. "If you want to know the quality of what you radiate, just observe how people respond to you. They are your mirror." Gary Craig.

Have a great month!
