THE TOP 5 REGRETS..... Bronnie Ware spent years in palliative care tending to the needs of the dying. It was through this experience that Bronnie was able to transform her own life. Documented in her best selling book The Top Five Regrets of the Dying Bonnie explains that people grow a lot when faced with their own mortality and although they all experienced a variety of emotions, in the end they all found peace, every one of them.
Not to sound moribund, but let's look for a minute at those top five regrets. Perhaps you and I can learn something that we can apply to our lives today from those souls who spoke with honesty and wisdom before they departed.
1. I wish I'd had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me. This was the most common regret. Are you living your life true to yourself? Is it important to you to fulfill your dreams? Don't put your dreams on hold. Life moves awfully fast and you don't want to die with your songs still unsung.
2. I wish I didn't work so hard. They say that when we are on our deathbed, not a one of us will wish we spent more time at the office. Work is necessary for sure, but it is equally necessary to balance that work with relaxation and fun.
3. I wish I'd had the courage to express my feelings. Do you suppress your feelings in order to "keep the peace"? Did you learn when you were young that it wasn't safe to speak your mind? Not expressing emotions can lead to resentment and bitterness which will inevitably lead to illness. People will always be who they are and we can't change that, but perhaps in honestly expressing the truth one can move the relationship up to a healthier level, or put an end to an unhealthy one. Either way it's a win-win.
4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends. It is common in today's frenetically paced life that we don't always put the energy we need to into maintaining friendships with friends and family members. This is a great reminder for all of us. In the end it all comes down to love and relationships.
5. I wish that I had let myself be happier. Many don't realize until the end that happiness is a choice. It's far too easy to stay stuck in old habits and familiar patterns that feel safe, when in fact deep down inside we long for something different, something new, something that might make us happy. Fear of change or fear of what others will think may be the obstacle to our pursuit of happiness. "When you are on your deathbed what others think of you is a long way from your mind." How wonderful it would be to give ourselves permission to be happy, to feel happy and to allow that little kid in us to emerge once again.
I think if I could add one for myself, it would be, I wish I would not have wasted so much energy over little things that in the end really did not matter.
"Life is a choice. It is YOUR life. Choose consciously, choose wisely, choose honestly. Choose happiness." ~Bronnie Ware |

HAWTHORNE FOR THE HEART
It's February and we will see hearts everywhere. Hearts are a sign of love, and our own heart is the pump that circulates our blood keeping us alive. Have you heard of the herb Hawthorne and its cardiotonic effects for the heart?
In Germany one of the most frequently prescribed treatments for heart conditions is the herb Hawthorne. Clinical and laboratory research finding abound that Hawthorn may be beneficial in treating heart conditions, including arrhythmia, angina, atherosclerosis, high blood pressure and even elevated cholesterol levels. Hawthorne also has sedative properties and can be safely used for insomnia.
Hawthorne is a member of the rose family thus closely related to rose hips, cherries and apples. In addition to flavonoids, Hawthorne is rich in minerals. Numerous scientific authors have been amazed that hawthorne can have such wonderful effects yet have no side effects.
Hawthorne works "thoroughly, dependably and slowly." Receiving the benefits requires consistent use. The nutrients in Hawthorne insure that the heart and circulatory system are slowly and deeply healed on multiple levels. As we advance into our years, Hawthorne is one herb that we should consider adding to our regimen. Hawthorne is relatively inexpensive. If you want to take a Hawthorne supplement make sure it is one that includes the leaves berries and the flowers like this one made by Nature's Herbs.

Learn the Basics of EFT - Meridian Tapping
The Emotional Freedom Techniques or EFT is a powerful self-help tool based on Traditional Chinese Medicine for releasing negative emotions and limiting beliefs.
Most of us are plagued by old stuck energy patterns. We habituate to these patterns automatically. It's the way our brains work. Unfortunately until we learn how to release these old patterns, trying to enact positive change will be difficult and leaves us feeling frustrated.
EFT works like emotional acupressure to quickly, gently and and easily remove the negative emotions and beliefs that are at the root of our problems and pain.
As a Nurse and EFT practitioner, I will teach you how you can use EFT on yourself and others to help you attain management of your emotions, freeing you from the stress and anxiety that stand between you and your happiness. EFT has a proven 90% success.

It is my passion and desire to contribute to the betterment of the world by spreading the message that a state of well being is for everyone. No matter how old you are, or what stage you are in, or what you have been through, I believe that you can find your way back to the Wholeness that was always your birthright. We are born magnificent beings but get conditioned into mediocrity. It is up to you to pick up the map to find your way back. And I'll help you anyway I can. "If you want to know the quality of what you radiate, just observe how people respond to you. They are your mirror." Gary Craig.
Have a great month! ~Tina
