USE UP FIX UP MAKE DO That was my father's motto. Like many others who came out of the Great Depression, being wasteful or extravagant was not my parent's style. Hard working people that they were, they only bought what was absolutely necessary. And never on credit. My parent's generation was actually a green generation. If something could be recycled, it always was.
I along with many in my generation have grown to overindulge in stuff. We live in a world of abundance, don't we? I am amazed when I go into pretty much any grocery store or wholesale club and see just how much there is to choose from. It's fun to shop. Shopping is a pastime for Americans and even a serious addiction for many. As a result, we have basements and attics and garages that are bulging with our stuff. We have Black Friday and Cyber Monday and and super sales and coupons to encourage us to buy more and more. Technologically speaking, whether it is a cell phone a computer, a television or a car, what is new today will be outdated tomorrow. What woman doesn't stand in front of a closet filled to the brim and say, "But I have nothing to wear". We all have a lot of stuff, but the question is, is there a price to pay for living high on the hog?
When we spend our time in pursuit of more and more stuff the energetic message we are sending out loud and clear is: "I don't have enough. I lack and I need something to feel better". This is probably why we never feel completely satisfied, because it becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy. What emotion lies beneath that need to fill up on more stuff...
It's that time again. If you are not already in the Christmas shopping frenzy, you will be soon. Going out to spend lots of money on more stuff to give to others who already have too much. How about trying a different approach this year? There is nothing wrong with gift giving, but perhaps we can shop with more self awareness. One mother once told me that she has to buy her kids a lot of toys because she would feel like a bad mother if she did not. It stressed her out and she never really stopped to think about that. It was not about her kids, it was about how inadequate she felt as a mother.
To change your energy from "I lack" to "I have enough" try giving one thing away everyday. It doesn't matter what you give or who or where you give it to. Give something away just for the sake of giving. This action "announces" to the Universe that you have more than enough, so much that you can afford to give generously. Letting go of your attachment to your stuff can create anxiety at first but can be very liberating in the end . Here is another adage, this one from my mother: "You can't take it with you".
Whatever holiday you celebrate this season, may it be a happy healthy and peaceful one for you and your loved ones. |

WHEAT BELLY
Food culprits are things that we consume that have deleterious effects on our health. Overly refined sugar, artificial sweeteners, MSG, BPAs, trans fats and sodium are food culprits for sure. But what if the leading contributor to obesity, diabetes and a plethora of other illnesses was caused by something that is in virtually everything on the supermarket shelves. What if that food culprit is wheat?
In his new book, Wheat Belly, Dr. William Davis, a preventative cardiologist makes a compelling case for eliminating wheat from our dietary intake. But wait, haven't we been encouraged to eat whole grains for health? Aren't grains on the USDA food pyramid? Wheat based cereals and breads boast "Heart Healthy" on the packaging. Bread is a staple of the American diet, so how could wheat be a food culprit?
The problem is that the wheat we are eating today is drastically different than the wheat of our ancestors. The wheat of today has been genetically altered to provide the manufacturers of processed food the greatest yield at the lowest cost. The wheat of today is nutritionally bankrupt and causes blood sugar to spike "even more rapidly than eating pure table sugar and has addictive properties that cause us to ride a roller coaster of hunger, overeating and fatigue."
And it's not just the abdominal fat or the "wheat belly" that it seems like most of Americans sport these days. Dr. Davis connects wheat to diabetes, celiac disease, rheumatoid arthritis and even dementia and premature aging. Wheat causes exaggerated blood sugar and insulin responses thus it works as an appetite stimulant that causes us to never feel full. When wheat is eliminated, the abdominal fat shrinks fairly quickly and people find their way back to health.
If you have a wheat belly that you would like to shrink,or even if you want to improve your overall health and well being, consider the elimination of wheat in your diet. The book is a worthwhile read. It not only contains suggestions as to how to begin the arduous process of becoming wheat free, it also includes recipes for delicious wheat free meals.

You will learn how to easily apply this stress reduction technique and leave with actual "tapping scripts" so you will know what to say.
EFT is safe and effective and when practiced repeatedly, it really works.

It is my passion and desire to contribute to the betterment of the world by spreading the message that a state of well being is for everyone. No matter how old you are, or what stage you are in, or what you have been through, I believe that you can find your way back to the Wholeness that was always your birthright. We are born magnificent beings but get conditioned into mediocrity. It is up to you to pick up the map to find your way back. And I'll help you anyway I can. "If you want to know the quality of what you radiate, just observe how people respond to you. They are your mirror." Gary Craig.
Have a great month! ~Tina
